I've just finished watching "Purple Rain".
I've almost forgotten how good a musician and songwriter Pricne really is. Sure, I have a load of his CDs and I listen to them a lot, but watching him perform those songs on stage just reminded me again what a pure amazement the man is. The way he plays a guitar ought to be criminal.
Two songs stand out for their sheer performance guts: "Darling Nikki" and "Purple Rain". Dear God in Heaven.
And Morris Day and the Time (Hell, I want a Jerome of my own!)and Vanity 6 (Oh yeah.....and a set of those too, thanks!) weren't so bad either.
