You're writing a role playing scenario with someone and you feel compelled to fix the punctuation and errors before writing you next part of the story.

Sadly this seems to happen to me a lot. I honestly don't understand why people don't capitalize words or don't use quotation marks etc. And it bothers me. So I end up editing their part before I add on.

I don't know if that makes me weird, but it honestly makes it hard for me to read and enjoy when I'm cringing at poor punctuation. Lol

Anyone else experience this and feel the same way?

As a teacher, I feel this compulsion on a daily basis. It has made me feel that I do not belong in that particular world. Especially since so many people rely on short hand and words like jelly or adorbs. I guess I come from another generation but both in a classroom setting and out in the world, I can not help correcting it.

Honestly, everyone has their own threshold for what they can tolerate and what they cannot. My punctuation and grammar have never been that strong but most of my writing partners have been willing to overlook it because I am able to tell a good story. I have had one or two partners who would send me pms requesting that I make edits and when they did I made the edits that I was asked to make.

Recently I found Grammarly which is a free desktop app or browser extension (It has both options) that will scan your work and point out your errors and my writing has improved dramatically since then.

My point in all of this is that if it bothers you that much say something to your partner about it, or make a note in your advertisements that you dislike poor grammar and punctuation.
