November is special. We get two, that's right, two challenges in one 30-day month (you can do it). There's Tzara's fine Ekphrastic Poetry Challenge and now this one, which is a repeat of a former challenge.
Write a poem in which the first and last lines come from other poems that have been submitted here at lit. The deadline is midnight (PST), Wednesday, November 21, 2007. The night before the USA Thanksgiving.
Keep in mind:
1. The poets whose lines you use need to agree to your using them. Participation in this challenge means that anyone else can use lines from any of your submitted poems here, k? The sooner you say you're in, the more time others have to read your poems and pick lines.
2. You have to credit the poets whose lines you use. So, for example, your poem has a credit line at the bottom that says something like:
Line 1: I Love Jazz by Angeline
Line 30: I Love Dildos by Wicked Eve
3. Any form or style (including illustrated poems) is ok. So, sonnet, free verse, sestina, illustrated sestina, etc. Your choice.
I know from experience that the best part of this challenge is reading others' poems to decide which lines you want to use. We get to know each other that much better. It's fun. Give it a try.
I'll start. I'm in.
