Thanks giving diner

We, um, filled the car with gas?

OK, so tomorrow we're driving to the dinner. No cooking for me.

I have already purchased all the fixin's, though, and I will cook a turkey for my family over the weekend.

I really like turkey leftovers and sandwiches. (For awhile, anyway.)

yup yup!

i have to do all the work this thanksgiving and only have tonight and tomorrow to do it. it's ok it will be fun and i'm not going to do to much like i planed.

I've downed one bud, to get in the mood. My wife is still doing most of the cooking. I'm also doing the ham and greens. That's basically what I like, so I want it the way I want it. It's going to be a long tasty night. It smells great in here. The sweet potatoes are done also.

Pies are made (mince, pumpkin and apple).

Turkey just got in the brine.

Stock made for the gravy - need tons if it's gonna last through the leftovers and turkey pie.

My mom's bringing turnips, her own cranberry (whole), red cabbage and some hors d'eurves.

The rest has to wait for tomorrow.

mmmmmmm sounds good...

I can't wait to get started on my thanksgiving cooking. to bad i can't right now. i have night school first before i can come back home and cook. :cathappy:

we don' need no stinkin' thanksgiving. ;)
I do understand you, but I'll be getting drunk, getting fat, and enjoying the falcons kick some lions butt, if I'm lucky

Thanksgiving dinner will be leftovers from tonight.

Smoke grilled Beef Roast, seasoned with Pepper, Onion, Garlic, and Cilantro. Home Made Bread liberaly soaked with melted butter. Baby Carrots. Grilled Corn. And of course my wife for dessert.

My wife has informed me that she is making dinner for me on my BirthDay. I'm wondering what she has in mind. (I can think of a couple of desserts I wouldn't mind. )

Cloudy, ya made me chuckle at that one....don't be such a grouch! ;)

Blacksnake, what greens are you cooking - turnip? Collard? I love them both, but rarely have the energy to cook them from scratch.

I've got the pies made, the bread for the stuffing pulled, and the sweet potatoes boiled and layered in candying sauce. Everything else gets done tomorrow. At the moment, the pies are reposing behind a barricade of small appliances; the last thing I need is to wake up tomorrow to find no pies and the dogs five pounds heavier.

I LOVE turnip greens, but just don't have the patience to cook them right. *sigh*

All is well so far.

My wife's father is coming, but her sister don't want to see him because he is very controlling. My wife says that she will have a few glasses of wine to help deal with him. I don't think he's all that bad.

That's my drama for the day. Food is fabulous....

A few glasses of wine help with nearly anything. In fact ... I think I shall go open the port. ;) It won't technically be morning in another four minutes.

I have a ham in the BBQ. I am also working on some sweet potatoes and corn on the cob. Short of time, I purchased a mince pie. It's gonna' be a good Thanksgiving supper!

stuffed - ugh!

Got a last minute invite to a friends.....now I need a nap.
