Does your thread belong here?

The GLBT Chatter section is a great place to discuss all kinds of topics. However, the subject is so broad that there may be other places where you would find more answers, ideas, feedback, and commentary.

If your topic is story ideas, or you are looking for feedback from readers, the forums for those are Story Ideas, Author's Hangout, and the other forums related to publishing on Literotica.

If you would like to create a new thread to share pictures of yourself, your clothing, or any of your body parts - or you would like to encourage others reading your thread to do so - please post that in the Amateur Pic Feedback forum.

For interactive discussions - cybersex by forum thread, if you will - kindly use the Sexual Role Playing forum, or the Playground.

If you are seeking a real-life encounter or a virtual private exchange (e-mail, phone sex), please post your thread in the GLBT Personals section.

If your thread is about a specific act in general, such as rimming or swallowing your own semen, there are a few places to post threads like that depending on what your thread is looking for. The How To forum is quite useful for questions of all kinds, and the Playground and General Board are also good locations for general discussion, even if the act is commonly associated with a particular segment of the queer population.

What happens if you don't post threads like the above in the mentioned forums? Well, the sky won't fall on your head, I promise that! But be aware that the moderators may choose to move your thread to a more appropriate forum. When in doubt please feel free to post here, or PM the moderators to ask where your thread belongs.

Thanks for making GLBT Chatter a great place to talk?!

OPPRESSION fills the above post - oppressive in that...

The GLBT community would feel better, in my opinion, in their own community - this section of literotica. Not that they want to present to the membership that they are a "band of lepers" but...

In my experience on another site...GLBT...Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered/Transsexual, CrossDresser...were separate and all thet pertained to their community - stayed on their respective forum. It is more comfortable, as it is more comfortable and sensible, when a site/board separates - for instance - personal photos of members and family would not be appropriate or fit in to - a redlight light district-like forum...filled will nude photographs of men and women and other adult content (R and X+) photographs.

I am just curious why the GLBT community is being singled out to not - post all their content on this section...and old threads are being removed? You (owner/administration) do not discrimnate against the sex fiends on the General, Playground, BDSM, etc., boards...they have free reign to do as they please - and may I say - some of the thread topics suck...are sillier than what Kindergarten students would think up.

OPPRESSION is a vile, harmful, and hurtful action against cyberworld's membership and boards.

FREEDOM of SPEECH and FREEDOM of EXPRESSION is everyone's right - whether in real life or in cyberworld.

Why do you single out the GLBT community and execute conditions on what they can post...and also TELL THEM to...move to the back of the bus, in a sense...and not allow photographs in their own community?

I smell...prejudice and discrimation...The Biggy Rat of Society.

Where their threads belong?
The aforementioned/quoted post belongs in the trash.

Free Speech, No Spam!

LITEROTICA BOASTS FREE SPEECH MY ASS!!

I've often felt the General Board is the one that needs the moderator(s), but only at certain times of the day. More like a lifeguard at the beach on his high chair with his binoculars, rather than as a referee of language or pictures. Lives are at stake on that forum! :D

I think some of our threads here at GLBT are tame in comparison to some of the other forums use of visuals, language and personal attacks. Although at times it tends to tilt or lean too much to one side which can a bit much for my own personal tastes. But that doesn't come from the moderators, rather from it's own members. I'm probably the one that bitches the most regarding these things, but here I am, still here, and I keep coming back. Unfortunately, there are some really fine people that have left us. I hope they come back.

Oh man, "free speech" or freedom of speech can mean so many different things to many different people. I think the issue here might be how much of it, rather than, or even better than, none at all.

Well, to start with, the post you are objecting to was written by Etoile, and I suspect she will be surprised to read that she is prejudiced against the GLBT community.

I am curious as to why you believe that the GLBT is somehow singled out. Try posting a thread of your personal pictures on the How To Forum, or start a thread about politics on the AmPics board, and see how long it takes for them to be moved to a more appropriate venue.

As a moderator, I am sensitive to the fact that some posters here do not feel comfortable posting in other areas of Lit, and I keep a very open attitude as to what subject matter does not fit in with the forum guidelines. I don't remember the last time I moved a thread anywhere except to the GLBT Personals board. And, in the case of those posts, I see that not only as conducive to the discussion on this board, but a service to the poster, who has a better chance of getting positive response in the more appropriate forum. The same is true in the case of those seeking story input, for example. They are more likely to receive the type of response they are looking for elsewhere on Lit, therefore, it is suggested that they post in the more appropriate forum.

If you can provide some specific instances in which you believe Lit discriminates against the GLBT community, I would be more than happy to listen to your concerns. If you want to take turns getting offended, I'll happily discuss your implication that gays only belong on gay forums.

I understand this is your opinion, but the owners of Lit have their own too for how and where they want certain discussions to take place on their discussion board. Their opinion is just as valid as yours. As the owners, their's is the one that takes precedent on their discussion board.

It's up to the owners of each discussion board to organize it how they so desire. What is uncomfortable for you may not be for someone else.

The GLBT forum isn't the only one that has threads moved and deleted. There have been some big "uproars" on the "GB", "How To" and "Playground" (and probably others) over this very thing. They do not have free reign to do as they please. I do agree with you though about the quality of some of the thread topics in other forums, but the same is true here as well.

it's easy to start a new thread.... talk about what you want.... do you review what happened on the thread 2 months ago? It's not really that important to me..... Although I find it silly to have strict guidelines pertaining to WHAT is said on a thread instead of pics that are posted...... I think you should be able to post anything in a civil manner on any thread you want. whether it's germaine to the topic or not.....

however in saying that..... I don't pay a cent for this site.. it's free

AND it's speech........

This site even though it is free let's its members get away with tons more as far as pics/graphics go, even after the new restrictions....

I'm not concerned one bit if the "moderators" feel it important or feel self-important to delete posts or even threads....

start a new one and move on......

Maybe if people posted threads in the right damn place they wouldn`t need to be moved now would they? How hard is it to find the damn Lit personal section for christ sake. I swear some people don`t bother looking for what forum to post in

But then, if the "personals" posts don't get moved, then it sends the message that it's okay to post them here. Before long, we'd be wading through tons of posts like that. I'd prefer that not happen.

I think it's cool that Laurel and Manu provide this free discussion board. The moderators don't get paid anything for spending their time cleaning up after the trolls, etc. I have no problem with following their rules because of it. For me, it's about being respectful and showing appreciation.

I don't MIND the rules.... I just don't understand people getting pissy about them or people getting pissy about others NOT following them....

I figure I have to wade through endless sig lines and graphics anyway... what's wrong with scrolling past a personal... or people endlessly flirting....

I'd be ok if posts (except for the originating one) were deleted after 1 or 2 weeks..... do you like that idea?

I understand it completely. Some people don't like rules. Others expect people to be mature enough to follow them. It's quite natural for people to have differing feelings and opinions. *shrugs*

Nothing wrong with it, as long as it's within the rules.

Are you starting a petition?

of course it's natural.. but to get pissy and upset about posting's here IS immature in my view.......

I really don't care enough to do that........ I find what I need in here with no problem...

I find things easy too because of the rules and their enforcement. Kinda neat how that works, huh?

I wouldn't purposely break the rules.. hell I don't really even know what they are to tell you the truth......... I just come here to have fun and relax.... nothing on this site is ever goint to upset me or piss me off......

getting riled up because people don't follow rules.. or getting upset BECAUSE of the rules... is petty and fruitless in my opinion....

But still, I like the fact that, unlike the GB, we can have a nice quiet 'place to discuss.
In the GB it's too crowded, with a LOT of meaningless threads.
I think the mods are doing their job fine.
Maybe having a personal ad in the GLBT forum, is not annoying, but if they weren't moved, it'd really piss me off to see that ad, instead of a possible good thread..

Freedom of speech is not a rule. It's a right.

The "freedom" part is kind of a dead giveaway.

some rules are nessasary

I agree but...
Why single out a particular type of forum...or section of a forum. Kind of screams - prejudice and containment to me.

I'm elle aka gypsy - on other boards.

Thank you very much for all your input, everybody.
