Today I’ve posted the first part of a story that I started more than a year ago. Parts 2-4 will be soon to follow.

I’ve learned a thing or two here, thanks to all of the denizens of the Lit forum. I’ve still got a lot of learning to do and no time or place to sit in classes. Many of you have directly answered my questions, while many more have provided help through your posts on a whole mess of other threads. I’ve laughed. I’ve cried. I’ve cringed. I’ve felt like a dumb-ass and later like a bad-ass, and landed somewhere in between.

I’ve still got issues with commas, and being way too wordy with my dialogue, and although the piece in my signature is far from perfect, I feel elated about being able to put this cathartic tale out there in a way that I can feel proud of. I’m singing, “Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles...”

Thanks to Laurel and Literotica, and the rest of ‘ya bloody wankers!’ but thanks especially to the two fellow authors who spent hours and hours steeped in my drivel, while caring enough to be honest when I was going off the rails, or painfully abusing the English language and setting the Chicago Manual of Style ablaze. Your input is largely responsible for the stark contrast between my first and final drafts and I thank you, dearly.

If I had a million dollars I’d give you one.😁🙏💃🌹💫

Seriously, if there’s anything I can anonymously offer, let me know.

Felicitations! It’s a great feeling indeed.

Not to kick you out of the nest too soon however, a grammar-Nazi correction included above at no extra cost. ;)

Hope your story does well.

Lol, much appreciated!

You can let me steal that line.

Keep writing!

The best way to thank us, and I'm entirely certain I offered nothing of assistance to you, is to keep writing.

Keep enjoying your craft. Keep developing and stringing words together and bringing joy to the rest of us while you have fun bringing a world and people to live. You're basically Dr. Frankenstein, breathing reality into something that simply didn't exist before you took action.

None of it has to be perfect. But keep at it. I'm glad you're joyful over your writing. That's why I'm here.

More than a year. Wow, that’s like an elephant pregnancy. I can’t believe how systematic some people are. Probably shows as quality in the end result, though :)

Maybe I should follow that schedule of one per year — It seems to have worked. Just peeked at the current rating and there appears to be something there that is making some readers very happy.

Wait! I think I'm already on a one story per yer schedule

But seriously, congratulations AlexBailey! Hope this writing thing turns into a meaningful addition to your life.
