Darn avatar! Now I'm going to have to go to wal mart in the middle of the night and get some watermelon.

We have a super walmart here. Every thing 2 to 5 dollars is usually about 75 cents cheaper. Some things like meats tend to be higher.

Yeah, super wal mart.. I went out at one in the morning and scored like a Columbian cartel kingpin.

I got a small watermelon, a santa claus melon and a nice yellow canary melon. I also got both green and black seedless grapes and I made myself a nice little fruit salad kind of thing. Melons only come in one size though so I have a big tupperware container full of sliced up melony goodness! :nana:

Damn you, Betticus! Thanks a lot!

Damn you, Betticus!! Now I've got to go to the store and get a santa claus melon (what ever that is), a yellow canary melon and black grapes. I've already got the green grapes and watermelon. I'm also gonna get a honeydew and a cantalope, while I'm there. Oh, I've got HiVee containers, instead of tupperware...store brand=cheaper. :D

Watermelon is one of those few produce items that just smell so damn good, your mouth waters.

Awww DVS, I just use tupperware as a catchphrase for all sealable plasticware. It's good stuff though.

What I could really use is that honeydew. Turns out the santa claus melon was a very delicate white fleshed melon. It was good but a little blandish for my taste. Cantaloupe is good stuff too!

Oh, I think know what you're talking about, then. I couldn't find any santa claus melon here. It might be a local thing not around this area all of the time...or known by another name.

We have several of the good ones here, but only in the season. I'm sure you get more of them and pretty much year round. We have the honeydew, and cantelope and they are both GREAT melons. And they go well together, too. Nice and solid and full of taste.

Watermelon has its good times and bad times. You can get a good one that has great taste, and you can get one that looks great, has a great thump, but is either full of seeds or just doesn't have that good taste. And the name does tell the tale, too. It h as a lot of water in it. The other two have a much better fruit to seed/liquid ratio.

But, oh, when you get a good watermelon, it's heaven. The santa claus is more fiberous, I guess? That is what I would suppose. Still good, but the good old standards of honeydew and cantelope never fial.

And as for the tupperware containers...EVERYBODY seems to be making them, these days. And they all are pretty damn good, too. I'll bed Tupperware is hurting because of the competition.
