I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to read my first few posts and give advice as a beginner in BDSM.

My husband came up for Thanksgiving weekend and it was awesome. He totally enjoyed the control and we can't wait for him to come back for Christmas and have some more play time. He especially enjoyed wielding the flogger.

So.. thanks for not making me feel like I was asking stupid questions and for not being condescending. Special thanks to the few people who got into lengthy PM convos with me while I was working things out.

I'm glad your experience here has been a good one. I don't think I was involved in your thread, but I'll still take some of the credit.

What I really should say is we try to give everybody truthful information when they ask. The main Talk forum is suppose to be for this very thing and 99% of the posters here are good about keeping it that way. And we've all been new at some point and can usually help others with our experience.

We do have our share of assholes. I can only assume you haven't experienced any of those posters. Some can be a nuisance and others are just pests. And because you're a woman, you might have experienced another group of these people who tend to send women PMs offering help. Some can seem very straight forward and helpful...at first. Then, after a little time to get to know you, they change into the creeps they really are. Others just start out as creeps.

Don't assume all PMs are from people like this, because they aren't. Just know they exist. Like any other web site, we have good posters as well as bad, not to mention the posers, lurkers, wannabees and assorted creeps. When school's out, we have our share of 14 year old punks, too.

And yes, there have been a few creeps (from both of your aforementioned groups). I'm not surprised, though I was surprised at how fast they came out on my first few days here. LOL

And yes, I have had some great PMs from people who were genuinely helpful!

Oh yes, "it went well," is a huge understatement! At first discussions my husband was willing to try it, but I could tell was a little hesitant. And I was worried he wouldn't be able to fill the role that I wanted him to. But he stepped up to the plate and was awesome. Now that it's not totally new, I have no doubts that we'll be able to step it up in the near future!
