Today the last funeral of a British service person passed through the town of Wootton Bassett.
The town started its spontaneous tribute to the fallen quietly but it grew into a media event. Their tribute meant that no service person would go unremembered or unsaluted.
Now that repatriation of our war dead will no longer come through Wootton Bassett it is time to say thank you to the townspeople for showing their respect again, and again, whatever the weather.
Wootton Bassett deserves to be remembered as the town that cared.
