Texas Taliban Tales

The solution that Texan Republicans propose to school shootings is to provide parents with DNA kits so the bodies of their dead children can be efficiently identified.

Any Republican who thinks differently (even the one representing Uvalde itself) will be censured.
This is not satire.

Yup!!’ How dare Houstonians determine their own education system.!! Screw local rule!! The Party knows best! Representative Government? No! Our Way or the Highway!!

Granted ? If “The State of Jefferson” decided to ban Darwin or about a Flat Earth the rest of the state of California would step in.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Saturday that he is seeking to pardon a U.S. Army sergeant who was convicted of murder in the 2020 fatal shooting of an armed protester during ,,,

Cool, so maybe I can go around shooting people in cold blood with impunity and get a pardon. I'll just claim to be a "True Patriot" and get away with it.
This is a sign of how our society is collapsing. No respect for law, order, or even common decency anymore.

The armed protester was legally carrying under his 2A rights.
The off duty Sergeant was legally carrying under his 2A rights.

The off-duty Sergeant posted on social media that he was likely going to kill someone today, then drove to where he knew a protest was happening, blew a red light and drove into the crowd. Then shot somebody. In self-defense obviously, using the Shittenhouse defense.

That would be totally appropriate for private religious/parochial schools.
Not so for public schools.

Edit: I know I'm bluntly stating the obvious, but given the mentality of some people on this board, the sad fact is, it does need to be stated nonetheless. You display the Ten Commandments in religious schools. Not public schools. In public schools, you can still allow for times for non-denominational prayers, provided the faculty and staff does not lead them.

I grew up in a religion that didn't do much with the commandments. I don't recall ever hearing them mentioned, so I don't know how much do people care about which version, which interpretation, etc. But the English classes could do something with archaic words of older translations and modern equivalents. Since you all or y'all is now accepted as the plural you in some areas, that could be included in religious documents.

Wait, they don't want people to vote on election day?

I never get in the gutter with miserable morons on this site who live there and ain't why I come here. But this is like shooting the proverbial fish in a....well, you know. I'm sure I'll get chastised for talking about shooting fish, lmao.

If you want to bash my state on a fucking sex site, in fact, start a whole fucking thread about it, have at it, mod. No one cares. Oh, the horror. Speaks volumes on its own, but not about Texas, about something else. But at least fucking read the article you reference before you post misinformation bullshit. Nowhere does it say or infer that they "don't want people to vote on election day." Just that folks will be required to vote at their assigned precinct on election day, which of course is the one closest to their home and often within walking distance. So a false fucking statement you made, right? Yep, right, mod. And of course they have weeks to vote anywhere they want in the county, not to mention mail in their ballot.

IDGAF what you think or who or what you like or don't like. But posting absurd statements and disinformation just makes you look completely fucking ignorant.

Texas is a shithole state full of queers and bud light.

I dont know who this J Bone is, or whether he is yet ANOTHER Icanhelp/hisarpy/trailerhitch/etc. sock puppet, but I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's not. He does make a point that if you post an article, and make a misleading statement about what the article says, or what it's main point is, then you are really not helping the cause here. People rightfully call out Speechio, Rightguide and the Icanhelp/chobham/hisarpy guy for doing this same shit all the time. jaFo, come on...I know you are better than that.

Perhaps you can explain to the class why in Texas you can vote in at any voting location during early voting but must vote in your "assigned precinct" on voting day? What changes? My voting location changes every year or so, so I vote early voting each election,

And did you see the legislation passed this past week which gives the legislature the unilateral right to remove the election commissioner without cause or justification in any county with a population of over 2.3 million people? And how many counties reach that population threshold? One: Harris county, Houston, the shining beacon of democracy that routinely casts "no" votes against corrupt politicians like Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton and represents a "clear and present danger" to corrupt Republicans in Texas.

Why would a Third Grade teacher be reprimanded for teaching her students about their "Legal and Constitutional Rights"? Makes no sense.

Then you find out the school district couldn't reprimand her for being gay because of her Legal and Constitutional Rights and it all makes sense

Texas already has one of the lowest voting rates in the free world. It explains why the state is like apartheid South Africa where a white minority runs the entire state. The Legislature is 62% white even though whites are only 40% of the population. As a white man in Texas I can kill or rape any person of color without consequences. I have lived here since 1991 and it gets worse every single year. The Neanderthals who now run the state make Rick Perry and George Bush look like communists!
