The evening started for me after leaving work. I went to the jewelry company and picked up the anklet they were holding for me. It is solid gold and looks beautiful. I stopped at the drug store and picked up the cards I wanted to give her and right next door to the florist shop, I picked up a bunch of yellow daisies. Drove to the house and did a few errands on the way. I arrived approximately two hours after leaving work and my wife, a nanny, was at work herself.
When I walked into our house, I noticed a huge rectangular shaped box with my name on it and a couple of cards attached. I was completely confused because she told me that she had gotten me something I needed for our anniversary. I racked my brain while getting ready for our night out, trying to figure out what it was that I needed that came in a big box like that one. I showered, shaved and dabbed on cologne and dressed in a double breasted blazer, matching slacks, a long sleeve white shirt and a cute tie. The tie had been a birthday present. I downloaded the song “Anniversary” by Tone Toni Tony and set Winamp to repeat it. I turned the lights down low and lit several candles and sat back, waiting for the fantasy goddess to arrive, which she did shortly.
She came into the house and took in all that I had done and my attire. The first words out of her mouth were typical, “Great, now what am I going to wear?” I laughed at her and laid a kiss on her. We cooed at each other for a few minutes and she went to get ready. I was dying to open that box! It didn’t take her long to dress and do the hair and makeup and she was soon back in the living room, looking stunning. We debated for a few minutes over whether we should open the gifts now or later. I said now because I wanted her to enjoy the present while out on the town. Yeah, RIGHT! I wanted my hands on that box. We kissed and said all the appropriate lovers say to each other, then got to it. She opened the anklet and ooh-ed and aah-ed. I grabbed that box with gusto and tore the packaging off to reveal…an acoustic guitar I had had my eyes on. It is made by a company called Abilene and is of the old style, a wooden flattop box. She had thrown me off the trail completely and I was stunned.
We gathered ourselves together and drove to the restaurant for dinner. The place was lovely, the staff was in fine form, and the wine was flowing. We had a fantastic time together and once again cooed at each other throughout dinner. I had told the waiter about it being our anniversary and he kept his cool to the very end. When deserts were brought out, they were on a single platter, my Italian pound cake on one side, and her apple crosheta on the other. Ice cream had been placed on top of both and whipped cream poured in the middle. The whole plate was covered in blueberries and chocolate tied the two together. We once again ooh-ed and aah-ed over the night and reminisced over the time we had spent together.
We drove back home and that’s all the details you will get from me. What happened next is exactly what you think happened. All in all, it was a great night and I once again am thankful that the fantasy goddess chose me to spend the rest of her life with.
