So a bunch of old threads are being pulled up featuring the golden moments of some of the legendary missing figures from Literotica's illustrious past. I suppose they're supposed to provide an object lesson to the new class on how to behave.
I'm reading these meaningful, thoughtful threads, and one quality comes shining through.
Bitchiness.
Is that what you people miss? Maybe it is.
You complain that the Board has gotten silly, frivolous, and pointless. Well, it has. It's also become a pretty fun place. A group of lively people are coming here and having a good time, and a much smaller group of navel contemplators break from their meditations once or twice a week to come in and try to piss all over a bunch of good natured people.
I've come to a conclusion. It's not silliness that's frowned upon, or pointlessness. It's energy. Look at the people who take the most heat. It's the people who try to liven things up the most. Have post totals gotten out of control? Absolutely. I'm exhibit A. But would I post less if the numbers were eliminated?
Nope.
I was reading a thread earlier this week. Someone was praising certain members for being here a long time without reaching certain post totals. Now that was a silly post. What is the point of being here if you aren't going to contribute anything?
Interaction. That's why we have the Board.
And why isn't there someone around to keep the newbies in line? Who wants to keep the newbies in line? New people mean new ideas, and new points of view. God bless the newbies. There's nothing like fresh blood. Or fresh meat.
In conclusion, I think every member has to ask themselves what they'd like the Board to look like. Do you like positive people, or do you like negative people? Right now I think the positive people outnumber the negative ones. I. glad. I'm going to do my damnest to see that it stays that way.
