something that you wouldn't want anyone in your real life to know and that embarrasses you to even think about. i'll start:
about a year ago, i was cleaning up garbage. there is a little one lane road about a block from me that goes nowhere, the houses that were up there have all been torn down so there is just a little dead end lane. of course, people being the swine that they are, it is a favorite dumping ground. anyway, about a year ago while i was cleaning up ANOTHER load of debris that had been dumped there i noticed fabric in the ditch. when i got closer, it had jimi hendrix's face on it. i pulled it out of the ditch and it was a tee shirt with a reproduction of a concert poster for him on the front. the thing is, i remember that poster, i was really struck by it at the time. it's just a black ink print of his face with the date, time and locale underneath. also, the tee shirt was licensed by the estate. i thought, what the hell, if i can get the mud off of it and it doesn't fall apart i'll wrap it around a throw pillow. i took it home and soaked it in ammonia for two days, then ran it through the washer on the longest cycle with the hottest water and dry bleach. it came out looking like new. and it fits me. now, it's one of my favorite shirts and whenever i wear it i get comments on it because it's such a striking image. i always just say, "well, this shirt has a real story behind it." i'd never tell anyone where it really came from, i cringe myself to think about it. but i really love wearing it.
