Mosaic tilework. I am going to install a custom backsplash. I have been using ceramic cutters to snip the tile shapes out of dishes. Going to be a long project.

I'm taking the NANOWRIMO plunge, finally. I've thought about it for years.

I'm learning Mandarin. But I'm doing it at kind of a glacial pace thanks to the fact that I have to study for the goddamn bar exam again because the Supreme Court of Fuckers in Ohio decided to fail my ass. Seriously. A fucking 402 - the passing score is 405. No fucking way do they fail me on goddamn search warrants. I know more about search warrants than whatever asshole graded my exam. I taught people about fucking search warrants. Fuck them. I'll take their shitty exam again and blow it up and then move out to Vegas and only keep my license up to help out some friends who live in Ohio and make some $$. But other than that, turn the whole state of Ohio into a fucking parking lot - except for Athens; that place is awesome - and see if I or the rest of the nation gives a collective tittyfuck.

Also, Mandarin. It's tricky as hell.

I've been working on and off for about a week, so no. When I can go to my local Chinese restaurant - with staff that is almost entirely Asian and speaks with thick accents - and order dinner in Mandarin, then I will feel very accomplished.

Quilting....I have a box full of old jeans that I was going to make into shop rags. I've decided to cut out all the back pockets and sew them into a quilt for my grandson. A quilter friend suggested I sew the pieces together so I have an inch of un-edged material on the outside so the material along the seams will fray between the blocks. I think I'll use red checkered flannel for the backing. This wasn't a unique idea. My grandmother made me one similar when I was a teen. It wasn't made from all pockets, but it was all jeans material. My wife suggested I put something in each pocket when I give it to him.
