I don’t know if this belongs on this Board or in “How To…”, so I ask the mods to move it if necessary. I ended my story “Valerie—In a Deep and Dark December” with one lady becoming pregnant and two others about to become pregnant. I can write about getting ladies pregnant because I’ve done that (well, one lady for sure, AFAIK). But now these women have to have the babies. And their actual acts of having the babies, full vaginal delivery without anesthetics (by their own choice, of course), must be part of my story. So I need a technical adviser/editor who has been through childbirth to correct my manifold errors. Please PM me if you are willing to assist. Many thanks.

Childbirth is seriously subjective -- some women cope really well; others, not so much (my sister and I both had very similar births, but wheras she sailed through hers, I spent mine screeching that I wanted to die). My advice would be to have several women look over it, rather than one, for this reason :)

(Also, we tend to forget a lot of it. We have clever hormones that let us do this. You might well get some interestingly conflicting accounts from men who've been with their partners, in this respect).

Thanks, Firebrain

I would be surprised if it were otherwise. I'm sure childbirth is unique each time, although with the prevalence of C-sections (no fault medicine, and I don't blame the doctors, the risks are too high) I'm sure memory is dim in many cases. It may be that I've given myself a problem I can't solve, but I must try.
