Lately everytime I write a fairly long post, even if I check it before sending, it will come out "Unregistered" Have I got something set wrong. My wife recently set something up to log me out whenever I "X" off the board ( I kept forgetting to log out and I would be cookied on when she would sign on.

This is frustrating... I appreciate any help.

In your user CP options, there are two settings deling with cookies. One log you on automatically. The other keeps track of who you are and what you've done for this session.

You wife unchecked one or both of those choices, and if you take longer than 15 minutes (?) you get looged out for no activity. One solution is to open the reply or new thread in a new window so you can occasionally refresh the thread your replying to so you stay logged in.

You could restore both cookie setting to yes, and make sure both you and your wife explicitly log out and back in before posting.

hello harold

is there a way of tracing an email in terms of where it has been sent from?

Yes, depending on how you recieve your e-mail.

In outlook express 5.0, for example, I can right click on a message header and get a list of who sent it, how it was routed, and a bunch of other technical details from the internet headers.

How and Whether you can display the internet headers depends on how you read your mail. Most offline readers can display the info, online mail reders may not.

Your ISP can trace e-mails for youif you can't read them yourself. forward any problem mail to the abuse or technical assistance address for your mail provider and they can track it down. Whether they will or not depends on how badly they want you to stay a customer.

Thanks Harold.

I checked my CP and she had adjusted my cookies. I restored them and now make sure I log off before closing my session.

It's working better for me :)
