Oh boy, thread title should have read: "Tech Wizz needed..." =( I suck.

Hi Guys and Girls,

I have a technical question...sort of.

I'm wondering if there is some kind of freeware-program or way to set up a photo-dvd that does not automatically play your photos in a slideshow but that allows you to click through your pictures to view them. Since a lot of DVD's do have such a feature, I know that it must theoretically be possible.
I want to play it ony my DVD-Player and skip it with my remote control. I think my player does support JPG format but I also would like to be able to include a nice menu and be able to select the pictures via a menu and not just the standard selection of a file on the DVD.

I have already googled this topic but with no satisfying results. To make this clear, I'm not talking about a (animated) slideshow with music or something like that. I do have Nero and I know that it has this feature.

I'm also aware that I could possibly just create a slideshow and just pause and unpause it whenever I like. Yet I'm wondering if there is a way to do it without creating a slideshow but be in total control and able to just skip the picture whenever I like.

I think I have a DVD-Player

Is there a way? Or would I have to purchase a program for this? Or is it impossible and against the laws of the universe?

Please enlighten me.

And thanks-a-million in advance.

I think your best bet is to make photo-dvd with a menu. Usually dvd menu is just on the first screen, like start and choose chapter. However, it does not have to be just on first screen, it can be on every screen. Each photo will then have two (or more) on screen options, for example: go back and next.

Quoll, this looks very promising. Thank you very much, I'll give it a try when I find some time and then I'll report back to you if it worked.

Thank-a-million in advance,

Snoopy
