Anyone have problems with Firefox explorer?

I've noticed on a couple of web sites. The first time you go to them after starting your PC that it takes AGES to respond. Then it comes in with Java and it appears that the SUN Java add in has been slow in coming up. Some sites don't EVER come up. I see what they are supposed to be like by using IE 6.01. Albeit I get an Active X warning.

Do you think this is a configuration problem? Is it a common fault? Can I get a different Java applet rather than Sun? Am I confusing Java and Active X?

Basically looking for help. HOW TO fix Firefox.

basically, according to the article, it ain't a bug, it's a feature

If you want to do sites that use ActiveX either you need to use
an IE based browser or use a plug-in that will load ActiveX
into other browsers like Mozilla and Netscape. Google on
keywords: ActiveX Plugin Firefox Mozilla, and you should find info.

firefox has some java script issues. i'm not that technically inclined so i can't really help you other than to say your problem isn't unusual.

there are a number of plugins for FF that aren't part of the software as you downloaded it... i would recommend looking through their tech-support forums to find a solution to your particular issue. i've found it to be quite helpful on many occassions.

i've been using FF since it was first available and have been thrilled with it. we just have to remember that its sleek performance is due, partly, to the fact that it's not bogged down with all the extra crap that IE has... you get to d/l and install that stuff as you see fit.

of course, the other thing is that a lot of web design people don't test their pages on FF... so there are a number of sites that aren't "FF-friendly" because it's still such a small percentage of the market.
