What possible purpose is there, to denying President-Elect Biden his rights ?

Acting Pentagon chief halts Biden transition briefings

Axios

Real Defense Secretary Mark Esper terminated by Trump- John F. Kelly, the former chief
of staff, said Esper had “made the decision to stay loyal to the law and constitution and paid the price.”

Trump's acting (temp) Defense Secretary Chris Miller has only had the job for a month-
Miller has abruptly ordered a department-wide halt to cooperation with the Biden transition
team. Miller did as he as told, and he lied about it.

Biden spokesperson Yohannes Abraham directly contradicted acting Defense
Secretary Chris Miller's claims that the two teams "mutually agreed" to pause
the interviews.

If Chris Miller hoped to delay the outing of Trump's seceret, it is too late-

The Russian hacking of our federal agencies is basically an act of war,
and not only has Trump said nothing, he is now blocking Biden's team
from getting briefed by the Pentagon. Every member of Congress who
cares about national security should be speaking out now.

Rasmussen Calls on Mike Pence to Reject 2020 Electoral Votes
for Biden From Battleground States

December 28, 2020

Rasmussen is urging Vice President Mike Pence to ignore the 2020 election results
when Congress moves to certify Joe Biden’s victory in the Electoral College next week.

The conservative-leaning pollster and opinion outlet amplified a column that begins
with a quote attributed to Russian dictator Joseph Stalin, which says-

“Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.”

bodysong comment- I doubt very much, that real Republicans have anything in common
with Trump's Fan Club, or Trump Loyalists. Trump led innocents and the gullible, into
believing fairytales. They woke, after they found out that Trump sold them a pack of lies,

The digging of Trump's lawyers, comes up with the strangest items-

The lawsuit asserts that the 1887 law known as the Electoral Count Act, the vague statute
that has long governed the electoral vote counting process with minimal drama -
unconstitutionally binds Pence from exercising total authority to choose which
votes to count.

"Under the Twelfth Amendment, Defendant Pence alone has the exclusive authority
and sole discretion to open and permit the counting of the electoral votes for a given
state, and where there are competing slates of electors, or where there is objection to
any single slate of electors, to determine which electors’ votes, or whether none, shall
be counted," the suit contends.

The lawsuit comes before Judge Jeremy Kernodle, a Trump appointee to the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Rep. Louie Gohmert's lawsuit against Pence asks a Trump-appointed judge to rule
that the vice president is authorized to throw out the already-cast electoral college
votes and instead appoint his own slate of pro-Trump electors to give the president
a second term.

“This is insane,” tweeted Georgia State University law professor Anthony Michael Kreis.
True.

Led by Lone Star State Rep. Louie Gohmert, a coalition of outgoing President Donald
Trump’s right-wing loyalists asked a federal judge on Sunday to gut a post-Reconstruction
era law in order give Vice President Mike Pence the power to determine the winner of the
2020 presidential election on Jan. 6, 2021.

Gohmert’s cohorts include ex-“Kraken” plaintiff Tyler Bowyer and the Arizona Republican
Party’s chairwoman Kelli Ward.

The lawsuit, which was filed against Pence in his official capacity as vice president, is
based on outright falsehoods—there are no “competing electors”—
and an absurd misreading of federal law that would let the VP unilaterally decide
the outcome of his own election.

The election results in every U.S. state have already been certified and the Electoral
College votes for Biden have already been cast. There is absolutely no constitutional
provision allowing for states to have “competing” or “alternate” slates of electors.
The “votes” those groups sent to Congress do not have any legal authority.

Uh, yeah, how dare they expect cooperation in making sure the incoming administration is up to speed on all matters of national security?

He doesn't have any superadditional rights upon being (possibly) elected.

He has not been sworn in, he is not the President and he should go back to hunkering down in his basement since Covid still reigns supreme.

If you ever thought of yourself as a patriot, you can hang that hat up now.

If you ever were concerned about national security, that one can go too.

If you were ever concerned about continuity of government, yup that's over with.

So how much more are you willing to sell out in your worship of Trump?

Never heard any complaints about the Obama Administration...is this "another" win for Donald Duck?

Good morning, halfbreed halfwit. The president elect has a shit-ton of "rights" accorded to him via the Presidential Transition Act of 2010. You should look it u sometime. Transition funding, expedited security clearances for proposed cabinet picks, just a hole slew of perks enshrined by law.

The one thing not mentioned by law, but done by custom since way back in 1968, is access to the presidential daily briefing (PDB).

Since that is the one thing that the sour grapes sore loser one term impeached president can use to "punish" someone who beat him fair and square, President Trump is withholding that briefing to President-elect Biden purely out of spite.

Because as you and your fellow halfbreed halfwit BoBo are fond of saying, "stiggin' it to teh libtards" is more important that national security.

Congress overrides a Trump veto for the first time
with Senate vote on defense bill

January 1, 2021

The Senate on Friday voted to turn a $741 billion defense authorization bill into law
over President Trump’s objections, delivering the first successful veto override of his
presidency in the waning days of his administration.

The bill contains new restrictions on how much of the military’s construction budget
the president may move by emergency order — a direct response to Trump’s efforts
to divert billions of the Pentagon’s dollars toward the border wall. It also limits the
president’s ability to draw down troop levels in Germany, South Korea and Afghanistan —
a move Trump had planned over the objections of members of his own party.

Trump Handed Defeat as Congress overrides his defense bill veto

January 1, 2021

(Bloomberg)

Congress handed Donald Trump a major, bipartisan defeat in the waning days of his
presidency, as the Republican-led Senate voted to override his veto of a $740.5
defense policy bill.

It’s the first time one of Trump’s vetoes has been surmounted.

Dared to sign their names, in a letter to Biden

10 GOP Senators plan to propose a new compromise COVID-19 bill

1. Mitch McConnell R- Kentucky
2. Susan Collins, R-Maine
3.Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska,
4.Todd Young of Indiana,
5.Jerry Moran of Kansas,
6.Thom Tillis of North Carolina,
7.Rob Portman of Ohio,
8.Mike Rounds of South Dakota,
9.Mitt Romney of Utah
10.Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia.

White House plays down prospects for Biden-GOP meeting on relief bill

Biden press secretary says meeting is not ‘a forum for the president to make
or accept an offer’

In addition to Collins, the senators involved in Monday’s meeting are
Sens. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Mitt Romney (Utah), Bill Cassidy (La.),
Rob Portman (Ohio), Todd C. Young (Ind.), Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.),
Jerry Moran (Kan.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), and Mike Rounds (S.D.).

The significance of assembling a group of 10 Republican senators is that, if joined by Democrats, they could reach the 60-vote threshold needed to pass legislation under normal Senate procedures. The Senate is split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats, with Democrats holding the majority because Vice President Harris can break ties.

Republican senators present ridiculous Trojan horse COVID-19 plan to Biden, demand 'unity'

February 1, 2021

How can you tell a "bipartisan plan" is not really a bipartisan plan?

When it's being pushed by 10 Republicans and is headed up by Sen. Mitch McConnell's
favorite water carrier, Sen. Susan Collins.

- Joan McCarter

These Republicans have hacked up the $1.9 trillion plan initiated by President Biden
and currently being crafted by Democrats by more than two-thirds to just $600
billion because, well, hell.

Who knows why.

What's probably at work here is Republicans figuring they can once again push Biden's
old Senate guy buttons from back before McConnell laid waste to the institution, and
appeal to his nostalgia for what used to be. The problem is they're using McConnell's
definition of bipartisan cooperations: total capitulation by Democrats. You can tell it's
a McConnell feint by the fact that there is no funding for state and local governments
beyond $20 billion for a national vaccine program. That alone pretty much kills any
chance of Biden or any Democrat touching it. On top of that, they are offering $1,000
survival checks, starting to reduce the payments at $40,000 in income and capped
at $50,000. That's $40K and $50K determined by 2019 income, as if a year of
pandemic hasn't affected incomes.

Democrats Reject GOP Attempt to Say Pledge of Allegiance at Judiciary Meetings

Democrats in the Judiciary Committee today objected to saying the
Pledge of Allegiance...one of the reasons they gave was that it is a
"symbol of white supremacy," and that saying it would reinforce racism.
This divisive rhetoric from House Dems does nothing to advance unity.
