Tax Season, Eeek!

Here it is the 7th and I haven't done anything!

Actually my Tax Preparer is a sweetheart.
She keeps the Fed off my back and she's worth every dime.

She's a redhead too.

I'm my own Tax Preparer.

I'm getting back a bit of a refund this year. $1600.00. (I'm happy.)

I'll be using a bit of this to pick up a couple of Nook E-Readers and the rest will be dropped into the old savings account.

The Obama Making Work Pay tax credit bumped me down to the lowest Federal Income tax I've paid since I started working. This year, I paid more to my accountant than I did to Uncle Sam. (My accountant is a little expensive, but worth it.) Of course, the Bush Crash was a big factor in keeping my income down.

Hopefully, the tax whiners around here will read the article and realize that Obama has lowered taxes on everyone except the rich, a fact that seems to be escaping them these days.

Personally, I think Obama should raise taxes. How else are we going to address the deficit, if not with money? The only other way to do it would be to cut SS and Medicare, but the Tea Party crazies would go ballistic, since so many of them rely on those programs for their survival.

I did our taxes back in early March, found out we have to pay, printed out the forms and promptly put them someplace. I wish I could remember where...
