I'm thinking about getting a tattoo, but i'm very unsure about what I want or where to get it. I know I want something small, feminine and not in a highly visible spot... Any suggestions?

I have a Scottish thistle at the base of my spine. It isn't the most feminine or attractive of flowers, but that was a good spot (painful, though).

Hey Sqweek,
If you have a friend that is an artist why not get him/her to draw something you really like.. I did that and it made the tattoo more personal for me.. as for spots... you will have to look at that

I have seen good ink go bad due to gravity. For me I'm looking to put a two-headed dragon on my right shoulder blade sometime this year. That way, if I want it seen it will be and if I don't it won't.

Hey that is where my tattoo is.. nice place especially when you want to keep it from prying eyes...lol

I have a red chinese dragon that starts on my left shoulder and goes all the way down my spine. It's very thin and surprisingly feminine. A friend of mine has a sun done around her belly button. Great place if you never expect to gain weight or have children.

My best friend has a small flower on her breast. It only shows when she wears something low-cut. Also if get the tattoo somewhere that has a lot of fat tissue I've heard it hurts less.

It does hurt, but less on the butt cheek. That's where I'd go and if ya wanna show it......just drop those babies!

Stormy, share with what your tattoo is of. A flower or a name or an eagle or whaaaat? Don’t be shy now.. ;)

hope this help's good luck

first of all don't rush into it, go look at the place you'v chosen to get the tatoo done, are they clean do they use desposeable gear do they have a steamer for their gear, if the place stink's of "detol" (disinfectant) then thats a good sign. Often they will have a book of pictures of their customers, look at it, look around the walls at the standard tatoos on offer you may be surprised at how many there are but also don't be afraid to get something "custom" done and remember it's there for life so choose well.

BTW try looking on the net you'll be amazed at how many sites you'll find by just typeing in the word Tatoo.

I have ink and love it. Didn't we do a thread like this already like a week ago or something? Can't find the thread to link to though.........arghhh

Rocky,

I can't disclose that info. Sorry! As I said in a past thread, that would give away my identity to some others on here. Just have to use your imagination and let that little mystery keep you up all night......*wink*

I just got my tattoo this past weekend. It was my birthday present to myself. I also have it on my right shoulder blade. It took me over a year to know exactly what I wanted. My tattoo is very meaningful to me and I'm glad I got it. It didn't really hurt until he got close to the bone. So, that's my take on it.

Just make sure you leave your tail bone alone. That's where mine is and I thought I would die when I got it. It hurt so bad, my palms were sweaty, toes curling. Not to scare you or anything. It's my first and last tattoo. I have palm trees on an island with a sunsetin the background and there is a ribbon going through it with my wedding date on it. At least that's what I remember it looking like, I don't see it very often anymore. That's the other downfall about your tail bone.
