Did want to tattoo my girls when they were born but the wife said NO. I thought it would be cute and we could identify them if anything ever happened. ( bottom of right foot "Maid in Texas")

Well Sammyjo I don't have one as of yet, I am hoping to get one for the big 30 (two years away). I would like to get a band of roses around my left ankle.

My man actually has Tattoos all over him. 2 on his head, both arms are completely covered, both legs are half way to being completey covered and he wants to get our son tattooed on his chest. He gets them for personal reasons and every Tattoo means something to him.

He is more desperate for me to get my tattoo than I am, guess I am nervous.

I would like to ask anyone that does have Tattoo's, does it hurt? My man said it is a plesurable pain and something he can quite easily sit through. I don't know if he is just saying that to calm me down or what so I would appriciate any responses to that.

I have 3 tattoos one around right ankle one across upper back one across lower back and butt.
Nicole Yes they hurt. The pain is often times very exciting. It also varys in each person on where they get it. I will tell you the ankle did not hurt me at all except for about 1inch around the back but it only took 10 min.or so to do that part. My back did not really hurt it was just annoying for about 21/2 hrs. The lower back was ok the butt hurt more than you can ever imagine and it took 4 hrs to do. I said I would never do it again but I am designing a new one right now to go up my spine and join the two together in some manner.
I encourage everyone to get one if it is something that you want. keep in mind it is forever it does hurt and a good tattoo artist usually costs a little more but they are worth it.
One last thing tattooing releases endorfins into your system thus in some people that makes them very horney.

Yes, they can hurt. Mine didn't hurt a bit, except when my daughter kept poking at it the first few hours. But if you are really into getting it done, the pain is well worth it.

My daughter has a beautiful freeform design she created. It is in the center of her back just below her neck.

Her mother has to take the prize for most unusual placement. She has a dragonfly inside her ear.

I like tattoos that peek out from under clothes or behind hair. I find tattoos showing up on people I would never expect to have them. It's become very mainstream, but I still enjoy them.

I have a tattoo on my shoulder. It was drawn from a photo of a statue in the Louvre in Paris which is called Reviving Psyche with a kiss. I wanted something really different and its been drawn as a charcoal drawing. Even people who do not like tattoos have said how good it is, which I find nice to hear!

Nicole: You know what I said in another thread, girlfriend - they really don't hurt at all, but it may have something to do w/ the size of the design and where on the body it is placed. This is coming from someone who passed out when I got my ears pierced! I have a bumblebee on my left hip, and a dragonfly on my right.
