I am going tomorrow for my first appointment for my tattooed eyeliner. It was something I promised myself months ago and now the time (and cash) are here.

Please give me your comments on this.
Was is particularly painful?
Was was the most distressing aspect?
What is the best part?
Do you every wear makeup over it?
Do you look wierd without the rest of your makeup?
What exactly did you have done?
What color(s)?
What was the cost?
How long have you had it done?
Have you had it re-done or touched up?
Any problems during any medical procedures (ie MRI)?
Any other comments?

The whole permanent makeup thing is a bit creepy to me, but if it works for ya. Go with it.

I once worked for a woman who got this done.

She had the eyes done as well as her lips.

I liked her lips, but I really didn't like the whole eyeliner thing. But I think that was a personal choice, I don't wear eyeliner myself.

My only problem with it is that makeup styles change more often than the weather...once it's on, it's on...you're stuck with it...I don't think I'd do it. The tatt I have on my ankle hurt like Hell to get....can't imagine that pain on my eyelids!

The tattooed eye makeup fades. It usually requires a redoing in 5-7 years. These tattoos aren't deep at all.

It is not as permanent as an ankle tattoo.

I just got home from having the procedure done.

It was not really painful and was easily tolerated. Going to have my teeth cleaned is much more traumatic.

It was a bit painful at times but not much. It was more of a soreness. I would compare the sensation as the same as what I felt after stabbing myself in the finger this week while out camping. (It was a steak knife and it did bleed for quite some time.) The soreness is fading bit by bit and it has only been a couple of hours since I left the office.

Beforehand, I took some Benedryll to decrease my tearing and afterward took some asprin to decreas the inflamation (swelling). They gave me some eye drops and except for the swelling and tiredness, my eyes look great. I am lookng forward to heading to work tonight to see if anyone notices that my makeup still looks as good at 4 am as when I arrive at work.

I will be having a couple of follow up visits to correct any rough edges and darken/thicken/whatever.

If you have any questions, please do state them.

My mother has had her eyebrows and lips done and she loves it. She did say it was a little painful but not that bad.

I picture people coming out looking like Mimi From Drew Carey's show.

I would love to see a pic?

I've thought about getting my lips done in the past, because I am WRETCHED at applying lipstick evenly. I always fuck it up, then hate it, and go without anyway, so why bother?!?

Doubt I ever will, though, cause I'm a wuss.

You would need a very skilled tat artist to put "RIDE TO LIVE...LIVE TO RIDE" on your eyelids.

 Ooooh, gotta get that done. Yep.

I am now home from work and I must say that it was nice to have my makeup look as fresh at 7a as it did at 11p. My eyes are tender (the same sensation as when you have a stye) but I only squeezed them a couple of times when I forgot (once I was laughing-ack--not too funny after all!). I got loads of compliments on it and am about to retire to sleep for the day.

I will answer all the above posted questions after I have had some time to heal for reference in case any of you folks are interested in the same thing.

So you like the way it looks on you? :)

You would recommend it? I assume you like that color and are willing to keep it for some time.

Arsenic_Allie,
My suggestion to you is to read the previous posts in a thread before posting ANYTHING. It would be different if this was 400 pages, but this is less than one.

I'll see about posting a picture after the healing is finished. S'posed to take around 5 days.

I have one touch up appointment scheduled and then will possibly have one more if needed.

bknight2602,
I do like the color but if I want another color, I can simply apply that over this. I am typically pretty lazy about putting on my makeup and have a tendency to put it on during traffic-light stops on my way to work in the am. With this, I only really need my lipstick.
Of course, the rest of my face is being applied right now, but in a pinch, I need nothing and it really does look awesome. Better than I can ever apply it with a pencil.
