Tarot Cards

Hmm..the Tower (Past), The Chariot (Present), and The Hanged Man (Future).

Umm....Hit?

Damn. I never know how to play these kinds of hands...

When I was in highschool, the mother of one of my friends was really into spirituality and such, so she did a tarot reading for me, and I managed to pick up Death, and The Devil. I know they don't necessarily represent bad things, but it certainly fit it with my gothic perspective at the time.

I got

The World(Past), Justice(Present) and Wheel of Fortune (Future)

This was interesting thanks Myst

Past: High Priestess: a time of waiting

Present: Strength: perseverance, courage, resolve and composure, the qualities that help us endure when time are tough

Future: Judgement: judgments are necessary, sometimes one must decide

Actually Myst, I'm funning with you...

My cards came up Judgement (Past), Lovers (Present) and Death (Future).

Given what I understand, that's not a bad reading - it just means that my life has been and will continue to be interesting.

Thanks for sharing the site!

... and up to 8 billion years (until our sun goes into its red giant phase).

Past - The Empress
The Empress represents the fertile, life-giving Mother who reigns over the bounty of nature and the rhythms of the Earth. From her comes all the pleasures and joys of the senses and the abundance of new life in all its forms. The Empress encourages you to strengthen your connections with the natural world which is the ground of our being. Too often false sophistications and pleasures take us far from our roots. Let the Empress remind you to keep your feet firmly planted in the Earth.

Present - Justice
On this card we see the familiar figure of Justice. She has the scales of equality and impartial judgment in one hand, and the sword of decision in the other. Justice represents the understanding that life is ultimately fair and just. Even though the vagaries of day-to-day life tend to make us doubt this fact, Justice reminds us that there is divine balance.

Future - THe Hermit
The Hermit represents the desire to turn away from society to focus on the inner world. He seeks answers within and knows that they will come only with quiet and solitude. There comes a point in life when we begin to question the obvious. We sense that there is a deeper reality and begin to search for it. This is mainly a solitary quest because answers do not lie in the external world, but in ourselves. The Hermit hopes to uncover truth by stripping away all diversions.

Did I win?

Oh that's looking good.....

I concentrated on if i'd get a job or not

i get the hanging man for past sun for present and the hermit for future.....
Life sucks.

Instead of the traditional bride and groom figures on our wedding cake my wife and I used two tarot cards, the Magician (of course) to represent me, and the High Priestess for her.

People have always misunderstood tarot cards -- they were never meant to be used as diviniatory tools, even years ago -- they never tell the future. They were always used to illuminate a life, putting problems and hopes into relief. It's like making a list of all the good things in your life and all the bad things in your life, then standing back and taking a good look.

By forcing you to separate your troubles, worries and aspirtations and think of them in terms of cuase and effect, past, future and present, tarot cards give you a great chance to stand back and "take a good look" at your life. I find them a fascinating psychological tool.

I once thought of writing a series of short plays, each one based on the individual cards of the Major Arcana, since the run of the arcana is, in itself, a complete story. Indeed, it's the classic skeleton for all story-telling. The first card, the Fool steps out of his cave about to fall off a cliff. Clearly he needs guidance (Luke Skywalker, Dorothy, Frodo, etc.). He meets a man wise inthe ways of the world, who offers him direction and purpose -- the Magician (Obi Wan, Professor Marvel, Gandalf). And so on. You can take nearly any well written movie or book showing a "Journey" and apply it directly to the Major Arcana cards step by step. Every writer should study tarot cards.

Wheel of Fortune (Past) Lovers (Present) and Empress (Future)

It makes perfect sense to me too, strange!

High Priestess (Past), Hanged Man (Present), Devil (Future)

I guess I may be naive. I read the descriptions but dont really get their meanings for me. If anyone would mind helping me, Thanks!

They don't "mean" anything out of context of your life. To help you we'd have to know everything about you, or at least be in your presence to lead you with questions and do a little cold reading.

Reflect for a minute on where you've been, where you are now, and where you hope to be one day, and then read the descriptions again.
