I still haven't made the 1,000 posts yet. lol

It's numbers, broad tracks and toughness in my opinion won the 2nd world war! Kursk was fucking mental:D

David Christy designed the chasis. The US Army rejected it so he attempted to sell it to the Russians. They did what they usually seemed to do and reversed engineered it and didn't give him any royalties.

The Germans had the superior equipment by far. They lacked the industrial base to build the quantity needed and they also had a silly head of state (politics not withstanding) in that he meddled in war time production. Example Me262 would have been over the skies of Normandy on D Day had he not told the Luftwafe to make it a fighter-bomber instead of keeping it as a fighter as it was originally designed.

The Allies essentially blugeoned the Germans into submission; quantity over quality.

Well good for you JockDom ! When is a person able to write that little blurb under their nicks?

The Sherman or ronson/tommy cooker was a prime example of this

Yup. I was a tanker in the Army - M60A3 and M1A1/A2 were my toys. I wouldn't have gone into a Sherman if you pointed a gun at me - both were a death sentence.

Chieftans and challengers;) beat your lot!

They share the same armor formula that was developed by the British. The Brits have developed a few good tricks - radar, the angeled decks for aircraft carriers just to name a few.
