Trump administration talking points tell a different story from Trump's public remarks.

Want to know what the administration of Trump's White House are discussing ?

All of the memo, at this link-

Trump Administration to Dreamers: Prepare to Self-Deport

"The Department of Homeland Security urges DACA recipients to use the time remaining on their work authorizations to prepare for and arrange their departure from the United States—including proactively seeking travel documentation—or to apply for other immigration benefits for which they may be eligible.”

Dreamers and their allies made clear they’re not willing to see if Trump is bluffing

Under Trump, ICE has increasingly arrested immigrants with no criminal records, which will put DACA recipients at higher risk once their permission to stay expires.

Trump failed in his campaign promises on the DACA people already. He was to hang them out to dry immediately and he didn't--and hasn't, fully. It would be nice if his base realized that, but they apparently will choose not to.

I'm not opposed to him dumping it into Congress' lap. That's where it should have been from the beginning. I don't fault Obama for doing what he could and the system his administration has set up.

Trump could have taken the humane route and not imposed a time limit--said he'd leave it as is pending Congress' action--but Congress then wouldn't take action. The six months seems cruel, but if he'd made it twelve months, Congress wouldn't have started doing anything until half way into the eleventh month anyway.

If the Republican Congress does nothing and lets it lapse, they take it in the neck in the 2018 elections--and Trump at least isn't alone as the target of reaction. To do something, though, will require pulling in some Democratic support too, which would be all to the good for the process overall.

It's a sticky problem that goes back into the murky past as far as administrations that have kicked the can down the road. It's really Congress' responsibility to do something and that something should be obvious. They've been here virtually all their lives and they contribute to the economy (even big business understands that). The DACA program includes those that requirements for inclusion predetermined they were assets. This should be the easiest group to accommodate--probably a lot easier group of potential beneficial immigrants than Trump's mother or a couple of his wives.

Sarah Huckabee-Sanders makes astounding announcement mistake-

"President Obama is laying out a responsible 24-month phase out (to DACA)” Sarah Huckaee- Sanders told reporters."

She continued with her explanation until someone shouted out a correction.

“Sorry, President Trump,” Sanders said.

Huckabee Sanders attempted to paint the presence of Dreamers as something that affected employment and safety. In particular, she called out unemployment among African Americans and Hispanics in an effort to pit minorities against DACA. She redefined Trump’s “compassion” to say he was compassionate toward these 4 million out of work Americans somehow affected by 800,000 Dreamers. Obviously, Dreamers must be America’s hardest working group since they’re holding down five jobs each.

Asked if Trump would sign a bill similar to DACA if it reached his desk, Huckabee Sanders pushed such an idea away, saying Trump would only sign a comprehensive bill, and she scoffed at the idea that it would be difficult for Congress to design and draft such a bill in time.

The repeated statements that Congress should “get out of the way” and a deadline of March 2018 certainly made it appear that Trump was not just attacking Dreamers, but also Congress by creating a situation that seems designed for conflict and failure.

Trump’s decision was not a legal decision. Any deadlines that existed were deadlines that Trump could have easily moved or extended if he wanted. The Trump White House could have defended DACA if it wanted. But despite Trump’s many claims to a “heart,” his actions were brutally cruel.

Javier Palomarez, President and CEO of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, has resigned from his position on President Trump‘s diversity council after the announcement today that DACA is ending.

Minutes after Jeff Sessions spoke, Palomarez said on HLN, “I officially resign from that council effective immediately."

In June, Attorney General Ken Paxton threatened to sue the Trump administration if the president failed to rescind the program by Sept. 5. Mayor Steve Adler and Travis County Commissioner Sarah Eckhardt, along with other municipal leaders in Texas, signed on to a letter urging Paxton to lay off his attacks. In July, 15 immigrant rights protesters were arrested in Downtown Austin while defending DACA.

The news comes painfully soon after the death of Alonso Guillen, a 31-year-old DJ from Lufkin and a DACA recipient who went missing after helping rescue Houston flood victims last week during Hurricane Harvey.

However, not all hope is lost: The six-month window leaves Congress time to act. Considering some Republicans have expressed a desire to create a workable solution, the fate of DACA may not be completely doomed.

Donald Trump is driving the Republican Party into the one place they tried to avoid—being blamed for the government hunting down and deporting kids,” a liberal immigration advocate told me. “He’s pointing a gun at his own head: ‘I’m going to shut down the government unless I get a border wall, and then I’m going to start deporting Dreamers!’”

But immigration restrictionists, of course, will rejoice if Trump revokes DACA. They will have effectively forced Trump to keep his promise to them—apparently against his own preferences. “He’s been on the record countless times [in favor of] DACA, and now he’s forfeited leadership on the issue,” a conservative immigration-reform advocate told me. “Shouldn’t he be [upset] about that?”

Both sides of Trump's mouth-

Trump contradicting himself involves Deferred Action for Child Arrivals, or DACA

Trump, who pledged to scrap DACA on the campaign trail, the rationale for the decision centered on producing “safe communities, a robust middle class, and economic fairness for all Americans.”

2012

"Obviously, the concept is that you throw everybody out and everybody else gets a job, but it doesn’t work that way,” Trump explained, correctly during an interview with Fox & Friends, the early-morning Fox News show that would become, years later, his personal presidential cheerleading squad. “A lot of the jobs these people have, a lot of other people don’t want. You know that and I know that, and you see it all the time. Whether it’s picking grapes or doing something else, you have the jobs that a lot of people aren’t going to want,so I don’t think it’s as complicated as that. We really have to come up with a solution with compassion. We have to show some compassion. We can’t just throw everybody out.”

gsgs comment-

I saw Jimmy Kimmel's show, last night. I listened to what he had to say. I heard him, when he stood up for children, back in May. He pleaded for compassion, for children that needed medical help, and assistance from the government.

Jimmy Kimmel acknowledged that he was rich enough, and fortunate, to be able save his child from a blighted future, prolonged suffering, and premature death. He pointed out the parents in agony, because they and their child were falling through the cracks in our system. The CHIP program was there to help, but it was not given the funds to operate.

Last night, he showed his television viewers his child, that survived many surgeries. He loves his child very much, and JK never hid his anguish and worry for his child. His child may just be out of the woods. He has compassion and empathy for parents who have hearts that are breaking over the same issue. He understands that the pain is greater when they cannot get help for their child.

Yesterday, a journalist asked-

If we are not spending money on America's children, America's ecology, America's equality policy, and America's future, why are we spending money to defend America ? There will not be anything left to fight for.

Yet, we have elected officials in top government positions that decided that everything that makes America worthwhile, is disposable.

"CHIP has become a bargaining chip. It’s on the back burner while they work out their new tax plans, which means parents of children with cancer, diabetes and heart problems are about to get letters saying their coverage could be cut off next month. Merry Christmas, right?"

"So this happened because Congress, about 72 days ago, failed to approve funding for CHIP since the first time it was created two decades ago. This is literally a life-and-death program for American kids. It’s always had bipartisan support. But this year, they let the money for it expire while they work on getting tax cuts for their billionaire and millionaire donors."

(Trump collaborators decided they could ignore 9 million children, while they carved up America, the Roast Beast, according to Trump's tax plan.)

"And imagine getting that letter, literally not knowing how you will afford to save your child’s life. This is not a hypothetical. About 2 million CHIP kids have serious chronic conditions."

"I don’t know about you, I’ve had enough of this. I don’t know what could be more disgusting than putting a tax cut that mostly goes to rich people ahead of the lives of children. Why hasn’t CHIP been funded already? If these were potato chips they were taking away from us, we would be marching on Washington with pitchforks and spears right now."
