I finally got the bike running again. (It has Alzheimers, it forgets how to run.) This afternoon I took it out for a ride.
I was dressed for the ride and paid for it.
Boots, Jeans, Leathers, Gloves and Helmet.
I had removed the Windshield from the bike to clean it.
Even at speed I was sweating, it was 93°F with a humidity of 75% and a bright shining sun. Unfortunately for most of my ride I wasn't at speed, I was sitting in traffic.
We're talking stop and go traffic with long waits at lights.
The Local Motor Officers were wearing their short sleeved shirts and skull cap helmets and wilting. One of them pulled up alongside me at a light and handed over a bottle of water from his Saddle Bag. I envied him as I sweated inside my heavy leathers and yet he too was suffering.
I was thinking about this as I pulled into the park and motored towards home. Then my bike died once again. I had to push it the final two hundred yards. Damn, I would love to have a bike that ran correctly.
