Just a curious note re a UK series from years ago called Tales of the Unexpected. The initial episodes were written by Roald Dahl an excellent and celebrated children’s author. For the initial few episodes he used to introduce it and some story and context behind the idea of the story and plot.
The episodes featured some of the best and well loved UK actors and actresses of the time with many in the youth so to speak of their long careers.
The series went on to run to over a hundred episodes - most of around the 45 minute mark to fit into the typical UK ad breaks similar I guess to USA series.
There are some very clever ideas so it’s a good source for writers. Not all of course but an enjoyable series never the less.
It also had a very memorable opening and closing credit scenes with a shadowy dancer dancing with flames in the background and some curious objects I guess evocative of story telling like roulette wheels, Tarot Cards and skulls.
Worth a watch and there is a best 50 episodes version as well as the full collection.
I am currently around two thirds of the way watching the entire series.
