I need to know he knows what he is going. I dont mind teaching a bit about me in particular but he really does need to know how you use that tool! Time is way too short.

I think enthusiasm is the ticket, you can guide them to be quite talented if you've got a bit of patience.

Can have all the talent in the world, but if they're just not into it, may as well hop onto a sybian! Ohh... sybian.

Enthusiasm almost always leads to talent. Those who know they have talent but are arrogant and lack passion turn me right off no matter what buttons they think they're pressing.

The quote: 'Live as though you'll die today' should also be applied to fucking.

Agreed

Perfectly said so I will SECOND that motion.

I'll go with enthusiasm. Talent can always be taught...enthusiasm not so much.

Ok, all points well taken. I just assumed with talent came a bit of enthusiasm. I might be wrong. Velvet you are right. Arrogance is never pretty or cute!

I stand somewhat corrected.

Talent can be taught but one has to have an aptitude too.We can't all
be au natural though.

I beg to differ. I think the desire to learn trumps aptitude. The more enthusiasm one has, the more likely he or she will pursue excellence. As Velvet so aptly pointed out, talent can sometimes lead to arrogance which tends to lead to a lack of passion or care for the other partner. If I want a machine, I just reach for the vibrator. *shrug* Course, that's just my opinion....

An ex boyfriend of mine once tried to teach me about engines in case
my car broke down.I had tons of enthusiasm.I did a lot of reading but
I just couldn't grasp anything.

Now I've solved the problem by not driving at all.lol!

I like it better that way.

I'd prefer that my partner have both, but I voted for talent. I don't have the time or patience to wait for someone to figure it out.

I voted for talent since most men have enthusiasm. I suppose someone with talent who was completely blase about it would be unpleasant though.

Enthusiasm definitely.....if you have enthusiasm, you WILL develop talent. They go hand in hand. Take fellatio for example.....if you have an enthusiastic fellatrice, she will develop talent over a period of time. Enthusiasm is a desire to learn which, over a period of time = talent!!!!

One Assures the Other

In my experience, when there's talent, enthusiasm isn't an issue whatsoever. It just is.

If the world ends in 10 minutes, I might consider talented. Otherwise, enthusiasm wins. With a little instruction they'll be more talented tomorrow, and I don't tire of instructing enthusiastic students. Quite the contrary.

2nd'ed, she may be good, but if she looks bored and just going through the motions then it's just no fun for me...
