Which means someone else ended up with his...
So he starts with the car keys in the pocket...goes to the dealership... sweet talks the address of the owner out of the receptionist (possible sex scene?). tries calling...no answer... drives there... no one home but the fellow's wife?daughter?maid? who invites him to wait....
