taht

Argh! I'm buggered if I can type the word "that" properly. Everytime I type it, without fail (I had to concentrate really hard to type it properly, above), it comes out as "taht". It does my heeeed in!!!

Whether I'm writing a story, an email, a post, whatever, it's ALWAYS "taht".

Are there any words taht you consistently type wrong? I'm talking pure typo here, not spelling error.

Lou

remember always comes out "remeber". I never push the second m hard enough.

teh - the

my fingers go too fast and about 85% of the time, I get it as teh instead of as the. I have to backspace each time :p

There is probably others, but I can't think of em at the moment, and I just thought, why don't I ever do it on there? Aha.. I watched my hands as I typed there.. its because I do the TH first then finish off with the rest.

'taht' and 'nad' are my common errors but I have Word set to correct that sort of typo.

There's actually a good reason why you do that, I just don't know what it is. lol

No seriously, that happens because your resting your little finger on the 'A' and your brain tells that digit to move before striking the 'T' I used to do it all the time when I touch typed.

Consistency in Typos

What is it about some words which refuse to be written the right way the first time around? My fingers seem to have learnt how to type them wrong everytime I try. I am not talking just typos, I am talking consistency in typos.

How many people can boast of typing related as realted every time they try to do it? Or realise as relaise. Or consistently using 's' when I want 'd' making wouls've and couls've and sanselion. (Well, I don't type dandelion all that much, but used it to illustrate my point. And now you know why I don't use the word 'kidding' much. I'm just kidding would be... )

Then there is because. I invariably type it as beacuse, I have no idea why. So I've learnt to do bcos most of the time. Then there's the normal 'adn, teh' - which I think half the population suffers from. 'waht' for 'what'; 'wehn' for 'when'; 'taht' for 'that' - that's the H syndrome.

I can't let this be without mentioning the 'ck' mix. For example, most of the time 'smack' is 'smakc' or even 'smcak'. There's just something wrong about the placement of c and k on the keyboard. The same with b and v, x and c, k and l, a and s, q and w, g and h...

I'm normal.

Ah, as far as your brain's concerned Dampy it's really messed up isn't it? lol

Mine are keyboard layout oriented. Often hitting the keys to the left of the one I was supposed to, or changing the order of letters because they're closer to eachother on the keyboard.

'there' becomes 'threr'

'was' becomes 'saw'

'you' becomes 'toy' (a subconscious D/s freudian slip?)

It is? You shouldn't be telling me things like this. I might really lose it. :(

No chance, you're an intelligent woman who knows when someone is trying to make them laugh. As for the mistakes, our brains do some pretty silly things at times, but it's because of our thought processess, which are faster than our fingers. We tend to want to finish the typing before we start it. lol

My errors are usually spacing ones. Those are often unintentionally funny. I can't think of any right now but it's things like, "that'sr ight"

Or my latest of miy or muy for my. I think that's my nail getting long though.

I had one friend who was pretty consistent with ture for true. Which wouldn't be so bad, but she seemed to work it into every other sentence. She'd often agree with me by saying "That's ture"

"No, it's not ture it all, it's true, damnit!"

Yesterday I was IM-ing Min and told her (hope you don't mind me sharing this, goosey) that I thought she was 'probably tight'.

The word I was looking for was of course 'right'.

People online often ask me to give them a sex. (instead of a sec)

Give it to you? You've gotta earn it, baby!

"the" becoming "he". And it's really annoying because it won't show up as a typo and it's hard to notice, so sometimes it'll make it all the way into the final draft.

Graet ganddrad is very knowledable on these things Lou. I aksed hmi and the siad it was 'cos I wsa deslysticc:D :D :D

The most common mistake that I make really bugs the hell out of me, and it's 'There instead of Their,' or vice versa. The trouble with this mistake, is that I very often don't spot it at all, until someone else points it out to me.

Remeber is my worst one. I depsair of typing it correctly the fisrt time.

You have to remember, the QWERTY keyboard was designed to fuck up.

Back when typewriters were first made, it was way too easy to jam them. So QWERTY was invented to deliberately slow down a person's typing speed to prevent this. People had to type slowly in order to avoid mispellings.

Now that we can type fast, the fuck ups don't matter. We can type as fast and badly as we want.

Aside from tha fact that I just can't spell to save my life...

I constantly hold the shift key too long when starting a word with 'Th'. Such as: THe... THat... THen... etc.

Word catches it but not on tha board.
