I've never been to Tacoma exactly, but I've seen quite a bit of Washington and it's a beautiful state. I'd think it would be freezing this time of year though. lol Best to keep your pampered LA ass indoors.

It sucks. If you can stay somewhere outside the city. Tacoma isn't horrible, but I don't care for it. For one thing downtown Tacoma often stinks, for another there is a bit more crime there.

Oops! Sorry I misread that. lol I was actually there at the end of June and it was beautiful. So I would think July would be great. Unless they have a black fly season, like Maine.

Tacoma isn't so bad...my old Air Force squadron is there.

Well, McChord isn't in Tacoma proper, it is a little ways away and not down on the waterfront as downtown Tacoma is.

If the paper mill is still there it can get pretty smelly.

Still there, and still smelly. Also, whenever I hear of crime (especially drive-bys) in the Puget Sound, most of the time it is Tacoma.

The best part is that it's not far to Seattle or to Vancouver or Portland... It's also pretty close to Gig Harbor and this little bar/resturant on the water called "The Tides Tavern" (it was always a lot of fun).

The rest of the Puget Sound is fairly nice, I would rather live here than California (except for the winters) I just don't care for downtown Tacoma.

If you can stay in Olympia (about a half hour drive from Tacoma, depending on traffic) you'd be better off.

As The Heretic said.. it does stink. They call it the Tacoma Aroma.

Tacoma is a huge gang area-The worst area being the Hill-Top section. Avoid it at all costs.

Maybe, if you are interested, while you are in Tacoma Mr Freaky and I could buy you dinner.

I missed this the first time around. Plasticman, It's western Washington. It's always the rainy season here.

Our nicest weather is August and September usually.

With only 2 weeks being rainy instead of 4. And those aren't two weeks straight. It (the rain) comes and goes at it pleases.

The city council just voted yesterday not to support the war in Iraq, like the issue sits with them. You can stay in Fife, about two miles East of the city of Tacoma, the only attacks from the Casino-Americans you have to worry about is the Emerald Queen Casino lifting your money. There is plenty of nice business hotels there, and most of all, Destination Harley-Davidson.
If you come around July 4th be warned, it usually rains on that day. (kind of symbolic since the CCCP of Washington rains on any liberty and freedom they can)

the city is a bit busy stay on the outskirts if possible as for the weather it is warmer than up north by the border. June and July are quite nice it remends me of a Hawaiian winter kinda but less palm trees.

I don't know that I would go that far, it is just that there are much better places to be in the NorthWet. Maybe it is because the rest of the PNW is so nice that Tacoma sucks by comparison. Still, it does stink (not as bad as Albany, Oregon, and it is one of the least desirable cities of Washington.
