Just what subjects are still considered taboo these days? We have an Incest/Taboo story section, but almost all the stories fall into the incest catagory.

Given the Lit. guidelines that we have to follow, what types of storylines still fit into the Taboo catagory?

On the other hand, it also means "naughty and to be avoided at all costs, and truly wrong." This basically means sex with animals or with humans under 18.

taboo is thrown around to include anything that deviates from the norm as well so that would include most fetishes as well, sex with someone older or in power or with someone disabled, or golden showers.

Some fundie Christians and Muslims believe that pre-marital ANAL sex is acceptable, but not vaginal sex because it tears the hymen (even though most women tear their hymen well before actually having sex).

Then again, some fundie Christians believe any form of anal or oral sex is verbotten, hence the anti-sodomy laws in the US.

And some Christians (Catholics for the most part) believe any sex that doesn't result in pregnancy is a sin.

Interracial relationships can also be considered taboo, as are relations between people of different castes.

Not really. At least, not here in the US, where we don't really have any formal caste. Normally, caste would (or could) imply people being of the same 'race'.

A Kshatriya having sex with a Brahmin would be taboo, as would a Saraswat Brahmin and a Dadhich Brahmin having sex, or worse, anyone having sex with a Dalit. Yet all of the above are Aryans, whether Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaisya, Sudra or even Dalit, and thus above non-Aryans (however, to further complicate things, the Yavanas, Pahlavas, Saka, Tamil and other non-Aryans were believed to be Kshatriya who forgot their identity).

The Dravidians have their own system, of course.

However, there are cultures where mingling with an outsider would be taboo. For the Rroma, having sex with Gadjo would be taboo. And Jews are strongly discouraged from marrying outside their community, for obvious reasons.

Sorry - I disagree. I believe it means exactly the same here as in the dictionary: "avoided or prohibited, especially by social custom" and so covers all those weird activities not in other specific categories, for example joining the Mile High Club or the Moles' Club.

Thanks Jack. I've been in a number of caves i don't remember seeing a stalactmite that I would want to ride. Well Ok actually I never saw one I could, and there was no desire to do that anyway.

On the other hand, I remember a tour of a cave system they shut the lights off so we could see what's it like in their with no light. This talk of sex in a cave makes me think of that, and then picturing two people in there after closing, the lights get shut off and they feel around for each other then have sex. I get the feeling would enhance the feel of it, but dang I couldn't do that, I'd be to scared of creepy crawlies crawling on me.

Supposed to be very nice to let happen to you, personally I am all about not letting a live current touch me. I've seen the scare videos they show about electric shock, I crossed the street to walk by an electric post for a couple weeks after watching them.

I beleive the major porn shops carry ECT devices for use in a sexual manner, pretty sure they all say do not use alone. Which to me screams don't buy me cause I'm dangerous and the designers don't really know what they made.

There are some pretty long tunnels around. The one from the UK to France takes 20 minutes on the train; that's where I joined.

Other long ones are:
Japan's Sei-kan subsea tunnel under Tsugaru Kaikyô (the world's longest at the moment) also 20 minutes
Switzerland's Lötschberg from Frutigen in the Kandertal to Raron in the Valais, 14 minutes
Spain's Guadarrama on the Madrid - Valladolid high speed line, 12 minutes

In the USA the longest is New Cascade between Seattle and Saint Paul, on the Great Northern Railway and only takes about 8 minutes, so be ready!

As it was said earlier Taboo is relative to culture and there are still man people who only have vanilla sex and know no other kind. I had some lovely email exchanges with a married woman who liked writing about a realistic affair. Nothing crazy or wild, but taboo in the strict religious family she grew up in. Many people interracial and gay and lesbian story lines are taboo. Seems though incest is what most sites refer to when they talk about taboo.
