I got rid of the TV in our bedroom because the experts said to. Now I find myself falling asleep on the couch in front of the TV, and having to drag my ass up to bed at 1am. Then I have trouble falling back asleep. I never thought having a TV in the bedroom was so bad. If we're going to make love, obviously, the TV stays off. But other times, it helps me fall asleep. One thing I did that was bad when we had a TV in the bedroom; I would put it on after sex because I would be more awake from it. That was bad. I would try not to do that again.

I run a cheap fan all the time...for the noise plus it moves the air around when the furnace and a/c are off.

TV emits blue light, which is bad for sleep.

Mine is still in my bedroom from last year when I was laid up and watching stuff with B. I don't actually watch it much except when I am folding laundry, cleaning the room or sorting stuff to go into the large storage closet.

I can't sleep with the tv on because of the noise.

I ditched the bedroom TV back in 2006, a very wide decision. I fall asleep within 10 minutes of going to bed. And i don't use an alarm clock any more

I sleep with a small fan on next to the bed... and have done for many years. Since basic training, I am a very light sleeper and wake at most any noise... sleeping without the fan is difficult at best.

If I fall asleep with the tv on, I often have really funked up dreams...lol

That is an interesting association. I am guessing basic was what, like 30 years ago?

Having not taken the opportunity to serve (thanks for doing so, by the way) I only know what I have heard from others and of course the way it is portrayed in films where they woke you rather abruptly.

I had always been an insomniac, but around that age when Uncle Sam was messing with your sleep, I suddenly learned to go to sleep with ease. I can decide to sleep and be asleep in moments. I would say I am a medium sleeper. Reasonable noises do not wake me.

December, 1982. I was 18 and had always been a heavy sleeper. We got to Texas, went through all the hollering, picking up and putting your bags down, mess hall...yadda yadda. The day had started at 5am and we didn't get to Lackland til 11 and to our dorm around 2am. The drill instructor told us that since it was so late, that although reveille was usually at 0500 they were gonna let us sleep in.

The first garbage can hit next to my bed at 0500 and I went from laying flat on my back asleep to springing up to my feet probably in one motion...LOL BOOOIIIIINNNNNGGGG!!

It was nightmarish to say the least and I told myself they'd never wake me again.. and they never did.

So I've been a light sleeper ever since..not a bad thing tho.

and thanks.. tho it was always my honor to serve my country.

When I was in Basic, the drill sergeants said we'd have wakeup 15 minutes earlier each time ONE person was late to morning formation.

6 a.m. became 5 a.m. became 4 a.m and finally at 3:30 a.m. the drill sergeants admitted defeat and said from now on we're just gonna do pushups. :D

I've never had a TV in my bedroom since I've been married. I enjoy having one on while I sleep, but I do think it truly inhibits my sleep and keeps me from good rest. I do have to have some noise though. Complete silence is bad for me.

I believe that having a tranny in the bedroom is a personal choice. My choice is no, but I will not condemn you for yours.

I've never had a television in the bedroom. That's not what a bed is for.

We put an old TV in the bedroom about a year ago when we upgraded a TV a year ago.

I've never used it. The SO has turned it on a couple of times when I was out of town.

She won't let me hook a video camera to it for making movies.

I should just get rid of it.

No, no TV.

My ex had a small one tucked into a wardrobe stand for when I wasn't home...or porn.
I left all three right where they were.

The experts have TVs in their bedroom in the form of laptops.

They are egalitarian and productive, you are a rustic boob supporting corporatism and consumerism...

All our tvs have a sleep setting...

I prefer to read to sleep.

And I need a fan.

You're up in the middle of the night poking at people, how deliciously hypocritical.

Speaking of really stupid... where have miles and vette been lately? I kinda miss em.
