Here's some interesting news. I posted this in AH but I bet there will be as many people interested here. Keroin, for one.

Hi, Neal Stephenson here. My career as an author of science and historical fiction has turned me into a swordsmanship geek. As such, I'm dissatisfied with how swordfighting is portrayed in existing video games. These could be so much more fun than they are. Time for a revolution.

If you don't know Neal Stephenson, he's a rather fabulous writer of cyber-geek-punk scifi, he's really a swordsman, he's really a mathematical wizard-- in short, the guy who really could pull this off!

It's on kickstarter. It's probably going to be PC only, unfortunately for us linux users.

Also-- female characters that actually wear armor instead of chain mail bikinis. Which is pretty much history in the making.

That's very cool, Stella. I don't play video games and I'm not a sword enthusiast, but I do appreciate the comment about giving female characters proper body armour. Yay! And the video was funny - very well done.

BTW, I just LOVE Brienne of Tarth, in the Game of Thrones series. Hooray for kick ass female characters!
