i'll describe my ideal partner and hope that she's out there somewhere:
someone who values friendship even beyond D/s. any D/s play should only strengthen the underlying friendship.
someone who can communicate on hangouts for texting or voice, since....well, personal preference.
someone who can be trusted to push all my buttons and can properly handle me no matter what the results might be.
someone who values verbal repartee but also clearly defined boundaries.
someone whose awake times are around 8am - midnight US-eastern time (1pm-5am gmt, I think).
someone with enough experience to have a vague idea of what they want, but also being open to new adventures.
