Shay had a colorful past. In a way, she was a late bloomer when it came to exploring herself during puberty years. Heck, she even hit her puberty late compared to her friends and other girls her age. She belonged to a good family background, a catholic girl having to attend an all girl’s school. Yeap, that didn’t really allow for her to mingle with the boys. That’s why, her very first experience with a boy was with a brother of her friend’s. Her conserved lifestyle didn’t really allow for her to meet many boys, so for almost a year or so, she dated him. She was only 16. It was good while it lasted, losing her virginity to him but also realizing just how pretty she is and was growing even more beautiful. Her exotic features really help her stand out more than the rest.
It wasn’t long before another guy came along in her life, a family friend who she really liked. And when she began to date him, it felt as if he was the one. Not where she’d marry him instantly, but they were perfect for one another. And all good things come to an end. That relationship came to an end during her graduation year, that summer as she was about to move away from home to another state to attend college. She was initially considering attending a local university so they could be together but was glad the breakup happened before it and she could really see his true colors and the fact that they weren’t made for one another, considering he was sleeping with another girl. Stupid little boys…she thought to herself.
That’s why, since then, she decided to never date. Not until she’s considering a real relationship and wanting to marry. The latter…is almost like never. Over the years, she realized one thing for sure. She would never let a guy play her again. Betrayed. Hence, she had plenty friends. Guy friends. All of which would come running if she called them. Knowing very well, they more or less like her, find her attractive. Though why shouldn’t they? She was indeed a very attractive 20 year old girl. Not to mention the tiny and innocent baby face that would fool a lot of people of her real self as well as her age. She could literally pass for 16 if she tried.
And during the past two years of college, she’d been in a relationship with almost 10 guys. The best thing was that it never became anything serious and she was fine, having learned her lesson once! For now, she was living her life, away from home in her own little apartment near the campus. She was not sure what she wanted to do going from here onwards. There was a career in medicine, a nurse? Or a total opposite on the spectrum- Finance. For now, she needed a job that would allow her some pocket change after paying the rent and bills. Meanwhile, she is also applying for a job at some firm, anything to get her in, even as a secretary if not as an intern.

Rob was a professor or applied physics at the University of Texas. He was genuinely a nice guy, but quite harsh with his grading, because the younger generation needed to learn the hard way. "I mean, they can't focus, they're glued to their phones" he complained to the department's chair after he was asked why the failing rate in his classes increased year on year.
Back at home he had a wife, and three kids. Two boys and a girl. He loved them dearly, but they all got on his nerves. His wife always complained that he never made enough time for her. His kids either wanted more money, or did things against his conservative values. "You're not going out wearing that" he'd tell his 17 year old daughter, who'd jeans were too tight. "And you better be home by 8" he'd warned her.
"It's this damn TV that's messing with their heads," he complained to his wife who was excited that they were finally alone at home "No babe, I'm not in the mood" he said, last having sex a few months ago.
He went to bed, thinking about everything that's wrong with the younger generation, especially the girls.
The honking in the street was loud. And kept getting louder. Rob was fast asleep and it had begun to annoy him, the nuisance outside was making it difficult for him to stay asleep on his day off. The fun part of living in the suburbs was that it was pretty laid back. Besides the occasional sound of neighbor mowing his lawn or the nagging sound of his wife, he enjoys spending time at home. Well, minus the family and when they are away. Or else, he simply prefers staying on campus, away from family. Sometimes he wishes he’d never marry his high school sweetheart and explored his options. But it was what it was. Now, it’s come to this. And when he stirred from his sleep, he opened his eyes but closed again. And there, he realized he had immense pressure and pain from wanting to use the restroom. 'Small bladder' he immediately thought to himself but such wasn't the case as he was pretty much fine most mornings. One of the hand moved to the side of the bed to see who else was there, as in if the wife was still there or left the bed as usual.
