I just said hello to Laurel, one of the owners of the site and wished her season's greetings....just as I was about to toot my own horn for a story that won a monthly first prize some years ago...and offer some new authors a glimpse of what kind of 'Comments' one might receive here when you publish a story with Literotica:

“Amicus, I do hope you write the sequel to this story soon. It’s one of the most interesting stories I’ve read in awhile, all the complex emotions, the intertwining of military and civilian life, and that hardest of decisions at the end that Zack made...I wanted to scream “WRITE HER BACK, you damn fool, don’t let her fade away”. Thanks for such an excellent story.”

“ ...There is a co-dependent quality to the attraction between two deeply in love, & the resulting mutually satisfy- ing sex they enjoy, that sex in & of itself without love cannot match; & you write with an apparrent understanding of that, so that ‘tho’ sex as an end in itself can be good, real genuine deep mutual love produces sex that is unhurried, unbridled in intensity, & cannot be faked, so one is good, the other so much better. Thanx for the sexceptional reading.”

“Excellent story (Susan). I hope to read more of your work. Kept me interested to the end.”

“An utterly brilliant story. I can see I don’t have to tell you that, as your biography shows; but it’s good to find a superb new contributor and hope there’ll be more. Not only is it beautifully romantic, but (important to me) the circumstantial detail is full and realistic.”

“Amicus,
This is one of the finest love stories i have ever had the privilege
of reading. Thank you for sharing it. I hope that someday i can write something as eloquent and as lovely as this.
Sincerely Yours—”

“Just finished “Susan.” What a great read. I’m so glad I read it. Thank you for writing it and, please continue your new career of Author.”

“Very good story. Extremely well-written. Are you planning on writing future chapters? Keep up the good writing.”

“After reading your well written story, I looked at your bio. Now I know why it was so well written. I’m looking forward to some more installments. You have some very interesting characters here.”

“I really hope you don’t intend to end this wonderful story the way you have left it. To leave this great romance story hanging without an ending would be criminal. Please say you plan on finishing it!!!!!!!!!”

“I read your story, much to my enjoyment, then signed off. I was outside thinking and decided for once I needed to get back to the author. I don’t know if you’ve written any books, but your writing was, in my opinion, outstanding. If you haven’t written any books, you need to. Your story kept me interested throughout. I wanted to read more, and find out more about Zack (what was his background, etc).”

“I would think you would be an outstanding romance novel writter.(I don’t read these type books, but my wife used to... now she is into mystery novels) There are two things I am envious of... a good writer and a good artist. Is there more to come about Zack and Susan?”

“This story is gripping, full of feeling and well written with style too. Thank you.”

“Just finished reading “Susan” and am compelled to compliment you on a very nice tale...of course you left it (no doubt deliberately) set up to simply cry out for a follow-up. In case you were waiting to hear how “Susan” was received before considering carrying the tale farther on, please consider yourself advised that it is a good idea.”

“‘Oh, daddy, that’s the saddest, sweetest thing I ever read. What are you going to do?’ What a way to leave us!”

“Oh please how does he respond? I should actually tell you first that I really liked your story. I really, really would like to know how he responds...Please don’t keep us in suspense...”

“Thank you for a beautiful story. It brought tears to my eyes, made my heart ache and made me smile all at the same time. If you chose to continue the story, please give it a happy ending for all of us hopeless romantics. Thanks”

“Damn, “Susan” was the best and most engrossing story that I have come across on literotica.com”

“Thank you for submitting it, and allowing others to enjoy it. I appreciate your style and development of characters.”

“There is a deep and good person behind your brassy bio, my friend, or you could never have written something like that.”

“Well, it was plain to me after reading your “Susan” that the hard edge at the end of the bio was just smoke. The story reveals an author of real depth and sensitivity, who, in distinct contrast to most other writers on the site, can actually spell and knows his way around town when it comes to grammer. Your intelligence is evident and you have a keen sense of taste when it comes to writing a good erotic piece. At 56, I have been around enough for my imagination to supply any of the finer details of how 2 bodies couple with one another. I would be quite interested in reading anything else you write. Oh, and you have at least one customer awaiting the book you plan to publish. —Another night owl in the northeast of Oklahoma”

“I gave you a five for rating. this is an emotional love story that holds the readers attention and is well written. so what will he do? will we find out or do we use our own imagination to finish. thanks for good reading”

“Hi, thank you for writing this wonderful story! But why do they have to part - that’s so sad. Though not a native speaker this really touched my heart...I would love to find a sequel on this one... some day. Do you think my wish can come true?”

“I have been reading the stories on literotica for over 7 years now. Never before have i been moved enough to write a response. You are a very gifted writer and I could feel the sincerity of your writing. I truly hope that you contine writing as i know that you have a real talent for it. thank you.”

“A wonderful wonderful story. I can relate to Zack very much at this point in my life and I believe I know what he would do.”

“It’s no wonder you won the October award! Beautiful story, but it CAN’T stop there! You must bring them back together to continue where they left off. I know life is unfair, but this is fantasy, so you can make it right! Thanks for a great piece.”

“For a ‘stubborn, opinionated and an all around one way bastard’ you have a marvelously deft touch with the English language. You paint wonderful pictures with your words. It is all to rare an experience for me to find an author who entraps me so skillfully that I come to the end of a story shocked that the ‘movie’ I was watching was, in fact, no movie at all, but instead, the product of expertly woven words on a page. Your attention to detail is subtle yet satisfying—inviting me to explore your settings without drowning me in inconsequentials. You give just enough to allow a decent imagination to fill in as much or as little as it desires.”

“Really liked this story...it touched me deeply. Thanks for sharing it. Just wanted to let you know i enjoyed the story....i write poetry and know how important reader feedback is. Keep on writing!”

Just uploaded this story tonight on Smashwords and it failed to make the 'Premium' catalogue because somewhere it had the words, 'printed by', and, since Smashwords is Ebook format only and the submission 'meatgrinder' as they call it, spit the story back out, I started going through the story, line by line to see how to fix it.

I had forgotten, when I uploaded the story, to remove the 'Comments' presented above, and when I deleted them, I thoughts perhaps some of our new authors might enjoy what they might look forward to in the way of commentary.

I still haven't discovered the offending phrase and am still looking....
