I am what the rest of the world calls a breast cancer survivor. I like to refer to myself as a thriver. I had a double mastectomy with full reconstruction. Believe me, my feeling sexy took a big hit with the loss of my breasts and my hair. So to all you survivors who I will think of as thrivers I salute you. We are sexy, we are still women, and we are still very much desired. This post is to all of you men and women who made me feel sexy and accepted me just as I am, THANK YOU:) hugs and kisses!

Just thought I'd add I'm not looking for sympathy or pity. I just think this is completely overlooked on lit.

2 years ago, an old friend of mine got the bad news that her results came back positive.

Last I heard, she celebrated two birthdays...one her real one, and one the day after her surgery.

She is an awesome woman and I'm sorry we've lost touch

A few years ago, a good friend of mine lost her battle with breast cancer.
Her experience prompted me to get regular scans.
Good for you for thriving :rose:
