I joined Literotica in 2024 specifically to continue a couple of other peoples stories and I got permission from the authors to do that. About this time last year I wrote continuations for those stories and thought I was done writing.
Then, sometime in March or April I found out about the Survivor challenge and started working toward the goal of writing in every category. I completed that challenge on 11/28.
How To was hard, Humor/ Satire was a challenge since I don’t think I’m funny, I got lucky with Letters by writing a non-erotic series of letters to Santa clause. Reviews and Essays turned out much better than I ever expected.
As part of the challenge you can get bonus points for writing in Contests and Challenges. Once I realized that I think I published in all of them that were open to the public.
I am now re-reading through my efforts over the past year and some of them are pretty good. I am particularly happy with my Lesbian story Robbing The Hood which I wrote for the Crime and Punishment challenge. I never thought I would be able to write from a female perspective and if not for Survivor I never would have tried to write for Lesbian.
I was absolutely shocked by the response to my Crossdressing story Lookalike - Spouses trade Clothes to say nothing of the Taboo/Incest Home for the Holidays. Just incredible engagement and views in categories I wouldn’t normally have tried.
I did write in Loving Wives, but among all my stories in the past year I honestly put the least effort into that one. I wasn’t expecting anything good, and my expectations were met. I would really like to write in this category, but probably won’t bother going forward.
Anyway, the reason that I am writing this is to suggest that authors consider joining Survivor for 2026. You might trip into a story that you wouldn’t find otherwise. Almost all of my stories this year were triggered by needing another category and they were shaped by the next contest or challenge on the calendar.
You might be surprised by the stories you uncover.
