I've watched my last episode.
I'm tired of being lectured to.
I'm tired of having race and gender identity thrown in my face.
Like sports, I have watched it for years, for the game itself; escapism from the crap of the day.

The straw that broke the camel's back: black contestants proclaiming that there were too many black people on the jury.
They proclaimed that there was no way that they would vote for a black person because it was unconscious Racism on full display.

As a minority, I am highly offended by this because I have a math degree and can count.
After days of competition, they get down to the final group from which the jury comes
and, by percentage, black contestants, compared to the overall population,
were actually over-represented. To me, this just screams that
Racism would have weeded them out in
the earlier culls...

😔

I’m a Survivor fan since season 2. I’d jump at the chance to go on the show.

And as much as I hate that race is such an issue on the show, I don’t think it’s forever; I think it’s just an evolution of the show. Deshawn from season 41 put it best - yes, race is a factor in his life and it’s something that has to be handled, but at the same time, there’s no one of any race who goes on Survivor and doesn’t want to play the same game as anyone else. At this point, anyone who goes on Survivor and doesn’t want to play the game is there for the wrong reasons.

By next season, everyone will have seen the evolution of the show for themselves, and while people will juggle race and other forms of representation (I’m still sore about Jackson not getting to play and I hope he can come back,) everyone there will be there to play Survivor first and foremost. And I, for one, look forward to it.

I am one of those who the message will be lost on.

All they managed to do was turn off viewers.

Who knows? I might be wrong.
They might be growing audience thank to their awareness.

That's why I first tuned it. To be made aware of injustice in the world and why white people are evil.

PS - Randy? Are you just the voice of your UncleBill alt?

Who the blue hell is UncleBill? I’m just a diehard Survivor fan who actually enjoys seeing more representation on TV (and for the record, I’m a white cishet male and I’m not evil as far as I know.)
