According to Grist.org, African black-footed cats are among the smallest known felines, but are ferocious hunters, often killing prey that outweighs them, like hares. They can range far from water sources, obtaining hydration from the animals they kill and by licking dew from plants.

However, Grist says, “none of this general feline badassery has kept the species from becoming severely endangered — there are only 40 in captivity worldwide.”

Crystal, the kitten is AWESOME! Not an ounce of domesticity transferred from mom's womb to her. I mean Crystal is serious! She will fuck you up. Go Crystal!

We have a huge feral cat population in OZ. At the moment there are floods affecting much of southern Queensland, New South Wales and the state of Victoria, an area about twice the size of Texas.

I have a property which is some 50,000 acres of flat desert scrub, which is not much use for anything except wildlife. It is about 99% flooded at the moment with just a few small islands above the plain. The wildlife retreats to these small refuges but so do the introduced feral cats and foxes. So about 2 weeks ago I employed a couple of blackfellas (aborigines ) to shoot the cats and foxes. So far they have bagged 70 cats and 40 foxes.

All cats are the same - vicious and efficient killers. I'd cheerfully shoot the lot of 'em.
