This has to be the strangest WikiLeak.

When fighting a jihad against the United States, it's important to think with your brain, not with your nether regions.

Some key al-Qaeda operatives, such as Abd Al Rahim Hussein Mohammed Al Nashiri, received shots to promote impotence, in order to better serve the extremist group. Al-Nashiri bragged that he outranked Mohammed, the alleged 9/11 architect, and was “dedicated to jihad that he reportedly received injections to promote impotence and recommended the injections to others so more time could be spent on the jihad," according to his files.

Whoa! How did he out rank Mohammed? Oh, the other Mohammed.

That's dedication, unless he smells like a goat?

I'm amazed that you fell for the typical al Qaeda disinformation. The real truth is that there were no injections. Al-Nashiri DIDN'T NEED THE INJECTIONS!

Didn't the real Mohammed have 500 wives and the only reason he invented the niqab was to stop itinerant merchants lusting after the prime flesh he had corralled outside his equivalent of a motel.

Even a prophet can get jealous.

From Wiki:
During his life Muhammad married eleven or thirteen women depending upon the differing accounts of who were his wives. Muhammad's first marriage lasted 25 years.

In Arabian culture, marriage was generally contracted in accordance with the larger needs of the tribe and was based on the need to form alliances within the tribe and with other tribes. Virginity at the time of marriage was emphasized as a tribal honor. Watt states that all of Muhammad's marriages had the political aspect of strengthening friendly relationships and were based on the Arabian custom. Esposito points out that some of Muhammad's marriages were aimed at providing a livelihood for widows. Francis Edwards Peters says that it is hard to make generalizations about Muhammad's marriages: many of them were political, some compassionate, and some perhaps affairs of the heart.

So, what you're saying is that Muhammad's last ten or eleven marriages were dishonorable? :D

Not at all. "It is hard to make generalizations about Muhammad's marriages: many of them were political, some compassionate, and some perhaps affairs of the heart." In tribal Arabian society it was common and accepted that a powerful man would have several wives. Most of Muhammed's marriages were undoubtedly political, including marrying widows, who would otherwise have had a very bad time of it economically. Tribal Arabian society was quite a bit different than what is considered proper today.

I was just pointing to the amusing incongruity in the Wiki posting. Your response indicates you missed the incongruity (even though I bolded it).

The only way he could have honorably entered all of those marriages, according to Wiki, is if he didn't fuck any of his wives (or anyone else).

But, nevermind, if you don't get it, you don't get it.

Yes, I did see the stupidity in the Wiki words.

1) The Arabians valued female virginity at the time of FIRST marriage. The practice of marrying a widow, to allow her to survive economically was highly valued, although no one expected the widow to be a virgin.

2) The idea of male virginity apparently doesn't really exist in the Arab world. It was not uncommon to have a maid verify that a bride was virgin, and even display a bloody handkerchief out the window of a high born Arab bride. It was also not uncommon to have a chicken at hand. No, the Arabs did not worship chickens. No one gave a damn if it was the husband's first time. (Well, possibly the husband.)

3) I program computers. I have been, from time to time, forced to read programming manuals. The stupidity of the Wiki words is as nothing compared to the stupidity of computer manuals. I tend to read stupidity one time and then forget it as fast as I can.

I don't know if it's apocryphal, but reputedly, Muslim mothers masturbate their boys to make them easier to deal with, so presumably, the males are sexualized from an early age - and that would apply whether the story is literally true or not, the fact that there is such a story has social implications in terms of masculine role ideation.

The practice of marrying widows is largely the purpose of Muslim polygyny, to avoid the old cliche of the widow eating dog food and freezing to death in the winter which indeed was the occasionally fate of single women in Western culture before women were allowed/encouraged to seek economic independence, i.e., they were typically dependent on men - what happened to them after their men died, nobody seems to have given a lot of thought to.

Anyway, this is why certain wealthy Muslims are criticized, like the one that marries a different virgin every night, and divorces her in the morning - it's a perversion of the intent, though technically, it's Mutah, and valid.

Of more universal concern w/regard to Mutah, more commonly a form of temporary marriage that legitimizes recreational/extramarital sex, but which has reputedly become little more than institutionalized rape - what with all the male attrition rate being presumably high at the moment and a lot of unattached women wandering around.

Sex and Sexuality in Islam: Mutah: Temporary Islamic Marriage amongst Muslims

In May 2004, an old man, named Muhammad Zafer Yaqub Hassan al Jorani, came from Sharjah to Hyderabad—the capital of Andhra Pradesh—to undergo a cataract operation. On May 7, he married Haseena Begum—a 19 year old girl; and after two days, he divorced her. On May 24, he married another 16 year old girl Ruksana Begum. Haseena—ignoring threat to her life—went to a local police station to narrate her story and within an hour police arrested Jorani. Police also arrested someone called Shamsuddin who allegedly had played a mediator and received a cash of Rs 40,000 from Jorani paying Haseena's parents as mehr. To be noted that Jorani had two wives and 11 children at Sharjah.

By interrogating Jorani, police could discover that Jorani also divorced Ruksana after a few days, and married a third girl. But neither Ruksana nor the third girl dared report their affairs to the police, and no steps could be taken for those offences.

By interrogating Shamsuddin, police also discovered that a criminal gang and a group of qazis (Islamic judges) of Hyderabad were involved in this lucrative flesh trade. The role of the qazis was to solemnize the marriages according to Islamic rites for lucrative remuneration. Police also arrested Ahmed Sharif, the qazi who conducted Haseena’s marriage with Jorani. Further investigation revealed that Ahmed Sharif acted simply as an assistant of a chief qazi, who had nearly 20 subordinate qazis under his command.
