I try to imagine its me in the stories I read, but it is very hard to find ones I can 'fit' into, but when I do... oh my.

Anyway, just thought I'd waste a thread with my selfish desires. Thanks.

That might be a fun project, to make a story so tailored for one person that they can easily feel themselves slip into that character.

oh my... don't tease! lol

I thought this would be a no replies thread! Don't give me hope! LOL

Yes, as people are saying, if you want someone to write a convincing (to you) piece, then you'd better come up with details about:

1. yourself ... want some author to produce a hot scene involving this redhead (when you're brunette) office worker (when you're a farmer's wife)?

2. your preferred fantasies

This really is so basic.

Not trying to be annoying, just a building fantasy I've been having. I didn't think this was the forum to lay all of myself bare...

Many of my stories are based on friends I met here.
I seem obliged though to make sure they stay as close to the inspiration as possible.
Because every person is different. :)

Bare, no. Some reasonable detail, yes... as anyone would realise...

Perhaps you were just expressing a vague wish, not requiring an actual response from anyone. In which case, fine, now we all know you get these "selfish desires". Hooray for you.

Find a story that you would like to insert yourself into. Download the text. Then do a global find/replace putting your name in for one of the characters. Voila!!

i literally just finished a story based on someone else's prompt...

you've gotta share a little bit more about who you are, and what you want... so the story speaks to you

My first thought was; 'Have you tried writing a story yourself?'
This is a way to see yourself in the story and don't have to rely on a writer, hoping he/she gets it right :)

From what you said; It looks to me like you're not so much wanting to be written in as the main character in the stories you read — but you want to find and read some that do match your desires/fantasies. If that's accurate, the search for stories to read should obviously be a certain category, but also utilize the "story tags" that describe story content that might match your preferences.

I may be misreading your intentions, but no harm done.

On the other hand; if you do want a story written where you are the main character, I'd suggest you reach out via PM to one of the authors who craft the kind of stories you enjoy. In that situation, you'd probably be in an email exchange to coordinate the story content, etc.

General question, since this plays into something I had thought about some times:

When you say that it's hard to find stories you can "fit" into, do you mean mentally or physically?

I'm asking because I'm still debating if it's actually beneficial for authors to describe their characters in detail. The first time I noticed this was when I was proofreading for someone, and they asked me for my opinion on shaved genitalia.

I always thought that a significant portion of readers imagines a story from their own perspective as they read it, so if you simply refuse to mention whether or not it's shaved, the reader can imagine whatever they themselves prefer, and you don't put off the readers who dislike whatever was chosen. I'm not entirely sure if that same logic would work with the whole of a character, if they aren't described in any way beyond their gender and personality.

I've written numerous stories for people. I enjoy working in collaboration with others. PM me with your fantasies and we'll see if we are compatible. Check out some of my stories too.

I seem to have offended a lot of writers and people with this, I do apologize. I don't really know how to word my desires properly, but I do have a lot of envy when I read a story I can relate to.

If I could delete this thread I would. I didn't mean to annoy so many people.

I meant physically.

Yes, I think it is beneficial to describe in detail. Very much so. I may not fit the bill, but I believe that a character has to be described in absolute detail to allow the reader to visualize, desire, and perhaps even relate.

Absolutely. I read every story from a greedy and selfish perspective. I want to be one of the characters sometimes. If I don't the story loses fascination for me.

When you connect, it can become surreal and powerful. It can be frustrating when you connect at first and then it slides away from that connection.

I appreciate every story I've read here.

I didn't find your desire offensive at all and would be very interested in maybe trying to write a story that fits your particular interests and wants.

Sent you a message, if you're still looking :)
