Sure We Kill Animals, But Our Intentions Are Good

An eci-radical group known as The West Virginia Highlands Conservancy claimed that loggers would kill endangered species if they were allowed to continue harvesting trees on land owned by the logging company, Allegheny Wood Products. In order to prove it, the environmentalists trapped animals in the area to research the degree of trauma to them by the logging. As a result, a third of the animals trapped died, including one flying squirrel on the endangered species list. The logging company asked for a swift resolution to the pending suit (by the Conservancy) on grounds that the longer the case dragged on, the more animals would be killed by the animal rights activists.

A spokesman for the company said, "The only actual death or injury to a member of the species of which Allegheny Wood Products is aware has occurred at West Virginia Highlands Conservancy's hands, not Allegheny Wood Products',"

Look, it’s not whether an animal dies; it’s who kills the animal. If an evil corporation engaged in the process of exploiting the Earth’s resources kills the animal, it’s bad. If a group of environmentalists kill the animal, that’s OK. Their heart was in the right place.
