but the Inspections continue for as long as necessary, even years...

Satellite, U2 and on the ground observation to continue for as long as necessary, even years...

Do you still think Iraq will pose a threat to America and the world?

Count the ways: tunnels, drilling through the earth, new generation of invisible ink, robotic camels, voodoo dolls, deploy the killer bees again-this time casting a wider net and making each sting lethal.

The worst, diabolically programming all the oil we'll still receive from them. Whenever Saddam flips the switch, automobiles and plants will explode instantly. It'll be an expecially symbolic revenge--Oatmeal and green peas don't make a hearty meal.

Good question. My bet is that everybody will lose interest like they did in the past. If enforcement had been kept in place like it was supposed to have been, I think we wouldn't be in this position right now.

On the other hand, according to the reports I've read, Saddam is pissed because the inspections were a lot more effective than he thought they would be.

Better question is, "Is the EU, Russia, etc. willing to deal with this guy when he gets nukes?" because that is the risk being run. Is the EU ready to deal with him for oil, given the incredibly unstable personality that he is?

At the present, the US is willing to deal with the situation, whatever you want to argue as the US motivation.

I'm not so sure we will be willing to do that if Saddam gets nukes and attempts to take over the Middle East, which has been his stated goal for some time. If the US sits it out, which I think they would be justified in doing, I'm sure the EU will have all sorts of fun absorbing the combat casualties.

I think that the EU, Russia etc will only be too happy to join in an international force on the ground in Iraq to make sure he doesn't get nukes.

As you say it's when the surveillance switched off and we had no idea what he was doing that Bush decided to bomb him.

There is absolutely no need to go to war...

The world sees it, the UK and I believe the majority of Americans see it...

The only ones who don't are Bush and Blair (although I think Blair sees it and is desparately thinking of a way to back out).
