I had a Bat Girl/Catwoman story rejected because a rule non consentional story of copy writed characters are against rules.

Question- Why?

I've read several bdsm/non consential stories based on superheroines on this site.

Thanks

This is only the second time I've heard of this rejection, and the other popped up only recently.

It may very well be that it's a new rule, or one that's never really been enforced that's now getting extra scrutiny for one reason or another.

Either way, it looks like that's the way it is on Lit from now on. Should really be added to the FAQ, though.

Is that what they said in the rejection? If so that's a new rule, as in sometime in the last two years.

I got a Batgirl rape story through. Harley gets it pretty rough too. I'm kinda curious about this now.

because raping comic book women is sooooo sexy!

I mean, aside from whatever Lit's policies are doing at any particular moment.

The othe incident recently was a "Predator" story. Honestly the only one who knows the real answer is Laurel. You can PM her and ask.

My opinion-and that is all this is- is that it is possibl;e lit may have been contacted recently over a story and they are now being extra careful.

As a long time comic collector who owned a retail store for 5 years it still amazes me the amount of people that get turned on by comic book character sex. I also find it disturbing it is usually rape. Maybe because they are not "real" people see it differently.

Anyway you find anything out post back.

I have friends who write hundreds of thousands of words about comic book characters, so it isn't that surprising. :)

Oh I don't doubt it. I just never saw the sexual aspect of an animated person. I think maybe since I have been collecting since a kid and they brought me through some bad times in my life maybe I just don't want to see than that way.

I am curious on the sudden tightening of the noose on these stories however.

Well all I can think of, is a superhero has "powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men" (Superman TV series) which imagined by the author, can take advantage of a non con/rape scene, but that's nothing that a mind control or time stop story wouldn't do anyway.

Here's a time stop story I came across.
The protagonist doesn't really stop time, just the environment, for instance shower water is still, but the droplets can snap back in place after moved aside, like a door of beads.

Anyway, the scene I was most uncomfortable with (and slightly aroused by) was when the man's just turned 18 daughter was about to take a bath (not a shower).

She got completely nude and bent over the tub to check the water.
He froze time right then, and discovered everything on her could move to accommodate sex with his daughter.
I think the best part of that scene was the most sensual, when he got under her chest to cop a feel, open mouth kiss her breasts, lick her nipples, etc., and without her even knowing it!
She even came without an orgasm (delayed until normal time resumed).

Well it wasrejected a second time even though there is Doctor Who and Star Wars Bondage stories currently running.

How do you a PM when I try it says I have to change my options?

Thanks

I dunno about DC, but Marvel likes to sue for copyright infringement (they even have a copyright on the word "superhero"), so I suspect it's a liability issue.

I had a girl over at Pixies wrote a great Superman story I wanted to draw, but I didn't because of the liability issues - though it does depend on whether you get paid or not, and I think spoofs are protected, but as I say, I think Marvel at least will lawyer you to death anyway, and it might cost you a fortune in legal fees.

She wrote another one for me, featuring her own character, The Yellow Peril (the writer was a Korean girl) without any copyrighted characters, but I lost track of her, and Pixies, for a while there.
