Superheroine story with a doctor/healer

Don't exactly remember what happened. I remember like the team leader is going to die of some natural cause, then a member convinces the doctor/healer to break his code to heal her. He gives like the analogy that he wouldn't save a person dying of natural causes, but would save a person dying from a car crash. He also like helps a villain by getting rid of her nightmares but she loses her power? I can't remember much sadly. Anyway thanks for reading.
