Just rearranged and alphabetized my old vinyl, so, of course, I have to listen to some of it.

I have on Emerson, Lake and Palmer's titleless "white bird" album, complete with a boatload of scratches. "Knife Edge" was plagarizedfrom a Czech composer - I recognize the tune from NPR.

Listened to your old vinyl lately???

Quicksilver Messenger Service's "What About Me?" Good revolutionary stuff!!!

I'm surprised at how many of the lyrics I remember, and I haven't spun this thing in 10-15 years - maybe longer than that.

OOPS
I thought you meant clothing and such.

LOL!!! No, in that department, I would be a leather guy - natural fibers and all.

Procul Harem's "A Salty Dog".

With Robin Trower still in the band.

They NEVER played this stuff before it was "classic" rock, much less afterward.

Jefferson Starship's "Blows Against the Empire", back when it was still the Airplane. I think that most of the Who's Who of circa 1970 California rock and roll played on this one.

Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs", side two. It's amazing how many side twos I'll put on - first.

You can't do that with CD's, kids.

Hey Mbb!

That sounds like a relaxing way to spend a Sun. afternoon.

I think I have that Jefferson Starship.

I have two apple crates filled with albums. It's been a long time since I've got to play them; I need a new stylus:(

Hope you're enjoying!:)

You can actually still buy that stuff, but the selection is poor. My turntable is so-so, but it doesn't really matter anymore.

I wonder if much of this is even on CD.

The selection is zilch here, no place will even order it. But I've had one on my wish list for a couple years. Maybe next week while I'm out of town I will shop around for one

I'd love to listen to them again!
They are stored in my bedroom closet. A couple years ago the hot-water heater flooded the closet. All I could think of was 'Save The Records!!!!'. Those crates are heavy, but I managed to get them to safety before they were damaged! whew.

I doubt alot of it is on CD.

Yeah, but an awful lot of it is, too. I guess big cities would have stores that might stock some of the less popular stuff.

I just moved these here from that great storage facility - Mom's basement.

Pink Floyd's "Animals" - that's probably available on CD. Side one.

He he... I have 3 big boxes of vinyl... if I can fiind a place to buy a turntable, I'll play ALL of it!

Hmmm... I'd like to hear some Commander Cody, Greatful Dead, just give me a minute, I'll come up with more.

How about some "Cumberland Blues" off "Workingmans Dead".

"Gotta get down to the Cumberland mine,
mainly where I spend my time.
Make good money - five dollars a day -
Made any more and I'd move away."

We can do that - with scratches, too.

Circuit City has them, but the cheap ones seem to be gone forever. The bulk seem to be mid-range.

Tull, Zeppelin, CSNY, more Dead... I even have an old Woodstock album of my sisters... great stuff on that. John Mayall, Van Morrison, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Laura Nyro

*hums*
If I leave here tomorrow
would you still remember me
For I must be travelling on now
there's too many places I gotta see

Anything Dead is for me... but I've always loved "Sugar Magnolia" in particular...

I saw them play only once, in 1974. Some friends and I drove from the Chicago suburbs and saw the Dead at the Iowa State fairgrounds in Des Moines. Awesome outdoor concert...

LOL... I would have pictured you to be outfitted in military garb all the time... I wonder why?

Leather sounds pretty cool.

Never was a big deadhead.

Saw them twice - in '81 and '89. The '81 show was the best concert I ever saw, and the '89 show was one of the two or three worst ever. Go figure.

I actually wear a lot of cotton - t-shirts and flannels and old khakis to work, and newer khakis and broadcloth for loafing.

I still own a pair of penny loafers, too, but they need resoling. Heels, too.
