Hi folks...

I am a HUGE movie fan and love summer movies. They say that moveis are not doing so hot this year... (I think it has to do with people wanting to stay home and watch them on DVD and they are cheaper that way.) But I love watching all the action on the BIG SCREEN.

So... Tell what you have seen this year... what you liked and didn't like... rate them if you want, and what you are looking for and if you don't go or do go... WHY?

The Summer movies I have seen are....

Star Wars 3 - EXCELLENT! The best of the first trilogy. (5 Stars)

Batman Begins - Great! I think it kicked butt and was much better then the other Batman movies - except the first one with Jack as the Joker. (4 Stars)

Mr. & Mrs. Smith - It was ok. Orginally Nicole Kidman was suppsed to be the Mrs, but she was in the middle of another movie. Jolee of course is much better in the action stuff. The shotout in the store and as they are in the shack reloading reminded me of Butch and Sundance. It was really over the top with some of the action. (2 1/2 Stars)

The Longest Yard - I saw the orginal and liked it but this one was better. Very funny (thanks to Chris Rock) and close to the orginal and glad they asked Burt to join them. (3 Stars)

Cinderella Man - This one is going to get a lot of the Oscars next year. Very well done and excellent story (true by the way) and very well acted by all. Ron should get the nod for director which will be the first time he will have won if he wins for alot of great movies. It is not so much about boxing as it is about a man and his love for his family. (5 Stars)

So there you go.... what about you guys... any thoughts?

Star Wars III rocked! Haven't seen Batman yet but plan on it...and hoping that a few of these movies this summer are good....have you heard they are making two sequals to Pirates of the Carribean?

Yeah, I was actually really impressed with The Longest Yard...it made me cry in the theatre though and I hate it when I do that!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith was pretty good. I was a little disappointed because I expected more of a performance from Angelina...she was still fun to watch, mind you, just not as hardcore as in some of her other movies.

Yes I knew they were going to do that.... Like Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future, it is better to do them back to back then to wait years apart in making them.
I think #2 will be next year and #3 will be 07.

Not sure why you would cry... but ... ok! I think she was tamed back so she would not upstage Brad. When it comes to action, she is a better actor. And maybe because they did not want people to think it was Mr Smith and Lara Croft.

Thanks for posting.

I thought there would have been more comments by now... but hey... maybe people have not seen that many movies... I do love to go and I do love movies. Maybe I missed my calling to be a movie reviewer... lol (at least they get to see the movie for free!)

So here is a bump for you to post your thoughts.

Well I just saw Batman Begins and it was worth every penny...I like how they build up the character, paying homage to his original master, how they went back to him being a darker character...though I do miss the old Alfred from the original movies...but Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox was quite good in his role...and even Gordon was a nicely well played role. All in all this movie tells its story and tells it well, bringing back quite a bit of what we missed of the old Batsy [though not sure how they're gonna top Jack as the Joker]

Yea... I guess we will see.. because that will be hard to pull off.. unless Jack comes back. You never know... And I do believe they will make more... This was the real Batman from the comics.

Well thats what people want...the real Dark Knight. Though I do like how they're leading it along...and look fowards to the character development

I agree.. I was just telling my son that he should go see it but his friends told him it blew. I said well your friends are wrong. Go see for yourself.

OK FOLKS... anyone else want to say anything else about movies? Or should we let this thread fade into the west?

Well Constantine came out on DVD today...hehe got my copy at 1am :D

I've seen Fantastic Four...wasn't too bad...coulda been better but all in all wasn't too bad...hehe and Jessica Alba is fuckin hot as hell in that movie!
